Westminster Presbyterian Church - Durham, NC Westminster Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is a vibrant community of faith seeking to "do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly" in Durham and beyond.

It has a rich history of supporting local and global missions, and nurturing people of all ages in Christian education. Check out these shiny beauties 👀👀👀The new octave of handbells and chimes has arrived at last! These bells and chimes will expand the musical options available to our Westminster Ringers and help accommodate growth in our bell choir. Thanks to everyone who contributed to make it all possible! With joy and thanksgiving, we celebrated the ordination and installation of our newest elders and deacons last Sunday! These folks have answered God’s call to serve our congregation with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love 🫶🙏 🤩 Please join us in praying for our new officers as they begin this sacred work. Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's School Supply Drive a HUGE success! Sam and Don delivered the supplies to Murray Massenburg Elementary, and Cooper and Katie delivered them to Githens Middle School this week. To say the recipients were happy is an understatement! This year, sadly, Githens school has the largest number of homeless kids ever 💔 These supplies mean so much to them –- thank you, Westminster family 🤗🫶

A great big thank-you to Helen and Susan for the beautiful new worship banners they created for our Sanctuary 🤩🤩🤩 The banners are titled “All Are Welcome” and designed to invite us to reflect on the many ways God calls us to welcome everyone, every day. Each banner has 12 circles of white ribbon that represent the arms of God holding us always 💙🙏 ❤️

Now this might look like just a bunch of socks, but it's really a wagon full of love 😍 Our Yuletide Worldwide Summer Arts campers collected an offering of 275+ summer socks for our neighbors served by Urban Ministries of Durham, so many that we couldn't fit them all in one photo 🧦🧦🧦Each pair goes with a prayer and a blessing for the recipient 🙏💙

Christians have been worshiping on the tiny island of Iona since about 560 CE. On this year's pilgrimage to Iona, our youth got the opportunity to lead worship in Iona Abbey. Alex described watching our young folks pray, read, and ring in worship as powerful and moving. We're so deeply grateful for this experience for our youth, for the commitment of our amazing chaperones, and to everyone in the WPC family whose contributions helped make this unforgettable pilgrimage possible 💙🙏

It's been a wonderfully lively week of "Yuletide Worldwide," our summer arts camp! What a joy to see our campers’ creativity and enthusiasm as they use their whole selves to explore different forms of art! Campers have enjoyed a variety of artistic expression -- art, dance, storytelling, music, yoga, and more -- and feasted with their friends at mid-day. Kudos to our many awesome youth and adult volunteers, a big bunch of shining stars! 🤩🤩🤩
