What a soul-filling Sunday! ☀️

Today, we took our service out into the sunshine at Solite Park. There’s something so special about worshipping under the trees, sharing a meal, and watching the kids play. From the live music to the delicious food and great conversation, our hearts (and stomachs!) are full.

🎄✨ Christmas in July? You bet! ✨🎄

We are so excited to announce that registration for the 2026 CVLC Music Camp is officially open! This year, we’re bringing the joy of the holiday season to the middle of summer with our theme: Christmas & The Incarnation.

It’s going to be a week full of music, learning, and fun as the kids learn to play well-known Christmas carols and explore the meaning behind the season.

Dates: July 13 - 17
Time: 9am - 12:15pm
Ages: 5 - 11 years old

📍 Important Info:
To keep things focused and fun, we are limiting registration to 6 groups of 5 campers. Only the first 30 children to register are guaranteed a spot, so don’t wait!

He is Risen! 📖✨

What a beautiful, spirit-filled Easter Sunday we shared at Christus Victor! We began our celebration with a powerful outdoor "Son-rise" service, lifting our voices in worship as the day began. 🕊️🎺

The celebration continued all morning long:

☕ Breakfast & Fellowship: We enjoyed two wonderful Easter breakfasts together! It was a joy to see our fellowship hall filled with so many smiling faces and great food.

🙏 A Growing Family: During our morning service, we had the distinct honor of welcoming our newest members into the church family. We are so blessed that you’ve chosen to call CVLC home!

🐣 Joy for the Little Ones: We wrapped up the festivities with an Easter egg hunt that brought so much laughter and excitement to the kids.

Thank you to everyone who served, cooked, played music, and joined us to celebrate our Risen Savior. Our hearts are truly full!

Our combined Good Friday service was a beautiful reminder of what happens when the Church comes together.

Thank you to everyone who made this combined service so meaningful. It was an honor to host our neighbors tonight for a powerful time of reflection and worship.

Parkwood United Methodist Church All Saints' United Methodist Church

Carla Stolzenthaler taught us how to teach children all about Holy Week on Good Friday (when there’s no school). We intentionally kept it to the 3 Collaborative Congregations on Mission (CCoM) - CVLC, Parkwood UMC, & All Saints UMC. 9 wonderful children total and great volunteers. Simon Zaleski did an amazing job as Jesus. See the photos of all the Holy Week activities we taught these growing faithful children. Worship tonight with the 3 congregations at 7 PM. This year CVLC hosts.

2026 Crop Walk - $11,394 and counting! 💥🧡

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who supported Team CVLC for the 52nd Durham CROP Hunger Walk!

We are thrilled to announce that our team raised a grand total of $11,394 (and counting) to help end hunger and provide clean water both locally and globally.

From walking the beautiful Duke University campus to meeting Wool E. Bull, it was a day to remember. In the end, seeing this community come together to reach such an incredible goal is the real highlight.

We couldn’t have done it without our amazing walkers, donors, and cheerleaders!

What a beautiful, sun-drenched morning to begin Holy Week together! ☀️ It was a joy to see so many familiar faces gather outdoors today for our Palm Sunday procession. From hearing the liturgy on the lawn to raising our palm branches toward the sky, it was the perfect start to this sacred week.
