🍂 Fall Kickoff + Align Gathering | September 13

We’re kicking off the 2026–2027 ministry year together! Join us on Sunday, September 13, as we launch into a new season of formation, community, worship, and prayer at Christ Central.

Between services, connect with representatives from our ministries on the lawn, learn about City Groups and formation opportunities, and find your next step for the year ahead.

Then, at 4:30, we’ll gather as a church for our Align Gathering, focused on VISION. Through worship and missional prayer, we’ll align around our shared calling to rest in Christ as we work for the renewal of all things in the city for the world.

One Sunday. Two gatherings. One shared vision. We can’t wait to begin this new ministry year with you!

“We can spend a lot of time comparing ourselves to the people around us.

Maybe we feel better because we’re doing more, behaving better, or avoiding the things we see in someone else. But comparison may soothe us—it will never save us.

The gospel invites us to stop measuring ourselves against others and instead look to the perfect righteousness of Jesus. Our hope isn’t found in being better than someone else. It’s found in Christ.

Comparison may soothe you, but only Jesus can save you.

September is here, and fall is kicking off at Christ Central! Join us September 13 for Fall Kickoff, our Align Gathering, and the launch of City Groups as we begin a new season of growing together and being formed in Christ. With Bible studies, the Faith & Work Module, Starting Point, youth and kids events, and more beginning throughout the month, there are plenty of opportunities to connect and take your next step.

We had an awesome time welcoming back our college students yesterday! We welcome around 80 students from Duke and UNC for pancakes and a sweet time of connection. We are so excited for the year ahead!

Guilt won’t break the bo***ge of sin. Shame won’t. Willpower won’t. Trying harder won’t.

The gospel tells us that transformation doesn’t begin with our ability to fix ourselves, but with the Spirit leading us to behold Jesus Christ. At the cross, Jesus took on our sin and wrath so that we could receive something entirely different: salvation and righteousness.

The gospel is the great exchange that undoes all of our sinful exchanges.

As a new school year begins across the Triangle, we’re praying over our students—from pre-K to college. 📚

Yesterday at Popsicles & Prayer, we had the joy of gathering at Duke Park to share popsicles, pray over our kids, and entrust this next generation to Jesus.

“Jesus, today as all of our students in the Triangle…from pre-K to college…are back in school, we pray that you would not only watch over them and make Yourself known to them but that You would use them for Your Kingdom. Holy Spirit, we ask that You would go before them and that, through them, Your name would be known all over Durham, the Triangle, and the World. Jesus, we give You this next generation. Amen.”

May God go before our students, be near to them, and use them to make His name known wherever He sends them.

The gospel isn’t good advice. It’s good news.

Christianity isn’t primarily about what we need to do—it’s the announcement of what God has already done in Jesus Christ. The gospel speaks into our lives and transforms our dreams, desires, and hopes because, ultimately, it isn’t about us. It’s about Jesus: the crucified and risen Lord.

The gospel doesn’t tell us what to do. It tells us what has been done.

Every Sunday is filled with hundreds of quiet acts of faithfulness that often go unseen. From greeting at the door to caring for kids, running sound, preparing for Coffee and Connect, and so much more, our volunteers help create a place where people can encounter Jesus and belong in community. Thank you to everyone who has said “yes” to serving—you are a gift to our church family!
