Why Messy Church? Because Faith Was Never Meant to Be Age-Segregated.

For much of the week, our lives are naturally intergenerational. Families learn together, eat together, celebrate together, and support one another.

Church should reflect that.

Messy Church isn't built around separating generations, it's built around helping them grow in faith together.

When children, teenagers, parents, grandparents, and other adults share experiences, something powerful happens:

- Children gain more faith role models.
- Adults rediscover wonder through children's questions.
- Families have shared faith experiences to talk about at home.
- The church begins to feel like an extended family instead of separate ministries.

Faith was never intended to grow in isolation.

It's nurtured in relationships.

Intergenerational ministry, like Messy Church, isn't simply a different way to organize church. It's a different way to experience the family of God.

Venezuela is facing a humanitarian crisis after two powerful earthquakes devastated communities throughout the country.

Lutheran Disaster Response is responding through trusted, long-standing partners in the region, including The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Venezuela (IELV).

ELCA partners have deployed assessment teams to affected areas, working together to identify urgent needs, provide immediate relief (e.g. food, shelter, water) and coordinate a plan for long-term assistance.

With your help, Lutheran Disaster Response will support people affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.
