God desires for us to live according to what He has supplied from heaven rather than being completely dependent upon the resources of this world. When we learn to live according to God’s standards, we position ourselves to receive and experience His goodness in every area of our lives. This requires us to trust His Word, follow His direction, and cooperate with His plan for our lives. To raise our standard of living, we must learn how to cooperate with God. God desires a relationship with His children that includes consistent, daily communication. In Genesis 3:8–9, God came looking for Adam and called out to him, showing us that God desires both communication and a response from His children. Our relationship with God is not meant to be one-sided; He speaks, and we must be willing to hear and respond. Cooperation with God requires us to trust His direction and respond to what He says.
