This Saturday, people will gather once again under the banner of No Kings, protesting President Trump and his administration’s tactics of fear, intimidation, and violence.
This Sunday, Christian churches will gather for Palm Sunday, retelling the story of Jesus’ public procession into Jerusalem—a protest parade that disrupted expectations of power and reimagined what leadership could be.
The connections between Saturday and Sunday cannot be ignored. Indeed, Palm Sunday reminds us that faith has always spilled into ordinary, public spaces and invites us to consider the kind of leadership we celebrate and the kind of world we long to create.
Join us Saturday morning for poster making and coffee before we walk to the No Kings Protest, 10:30 am -1:00 pm. Sign up for the No Kings Protest in downtown Durham or, if you would like a smaller, more accessible location, at the Hillandale location.
