Durham Congregations in Action DCIA has been building bridges across boundaries in the Bull City since 1969.

DCIA seeks to engage and empower people of faith to create communities of justice and peace through common prayers and acts of compassion; and with prophetic courage, to act as advocates for the dignity and well-being of all persons, recognizing that behind every human face is the face of God.

Who is DCIA? What story do we tell about ourselves and what is told about us? What should we do for the next five years as a collective of faith communities?

Thank you to all who came out to share at our strategic planning meeting! We will have a follow up soon for any folks who missed it. Thank you to Watts St. Baptist for your hospitality and love in action!

Join us Nov.17 at 11:45am (location TBC) to learn about peace-making in Durham and the organization Musalaha!

🏡💚 A day we’ll remember!

Our Building Dedication & West End Community Celebration was more than an event—it was a celebration of community, history, partnership, and the people who continue to make Durham HOME.

From honoring DCLT’s legacy in the West End to celebrating the neighbors, partners, vendors, volunteers, and supporters who showed up, this day reminded us why we do this work.

For 50 years, DCLT has been rooted in Durham—and we’re just getting started. Here’s to continuing to preserve affordability, strengthen neighborhoods, and Bring Durham Home! 🏡

Thank you to EVERYONE who celebrated with us! đź’š

Happy Pride, Durham! DCIA over the last three years has helped support our member congregations and the LGBTQ Center of Durham put together the Multifaith Pride Service. It takes a village! Part of our values is honoring all life as sacred, all people as bearing the face of the divine, and so we honor that in times like these when so many people are being told they don’t belong and are less than human. You belong.

As Rabbi Noah shared tonight, “we are under one Sukkot”.
