In the New Testament Scriptures, especially in the Epistles of Paul, we find much in God’s spiritual program
that was not prophesied in the Old Testament Scriptures.
First, we quote from Matthew 24:3 the words of the apostles spoken to the Lord Jesus:
“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying,
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of
the world?” (age)
Then in the verses that follow the Lord Jesus told His disciples of the signs that would
indicate that His coming and Israel’s kingdom were at hand.

Black History Month Year 100

The African American Baptist Church emerged as a significant religious movement in the context of the evangelical revival known as the First Great Awakening in the 18th century. This movement attracted many African Americans, including enslaved individuals, who were drawn to the concept of a personal relationship with God and the hope for salvation. Baptist faith offered an accessible path to ministry and worship, allowing even those denied formal education to become leaders and preachers within their communities.
The African American Baptist Church not only provided a means of spiritual solace during the harsh realities of slavery but also cultivated a sense of hope and expectation for future freedom. The legacy of these early congregations continues to influence contemporary African American religious practices and community life.
First African Baptist Church (FABC) was organized in 1773 under the leadership of Reverend George Liele. The 1773 organization date for the church makes it clear that FABC is older than the United States (1776).

"The Truth that Abides"
2John 1:1-13

2 John is traditionally attributed to the apostle John, sometimes referred to as "the elder." The letter is addressed to "the elect lady and her children," a phrase that likely symbolizes a local church and its members rather than an individual woman alone. It was probably written between AD 85 and 95, around the same time as 1 John and the Gospel of John.
This introduction establishes the key theme of the letter: the inter-connectedness of love and truth. Truth here refers to the truth about who Jesus is and what he has done. “Truth” is thus a synonym for “gospel.” John’s love is in the truth, and everyone who knows the truth also loves this church because the truth abides in them. Thus, truth is the environment for Christian love, and love is the response of Christians to truth. The personal, intimate nature of this letter is seen in John’s closing. We see John as a faithful pastor. The strong words on false teaching come from one who loves them and longs to see them.

What is Christian Education in the Local Church?
Christian Education Ministry involves the administration and coordination of programs or strategies to facilitate the spiritual growth or discipleship of believers into Christ-likeness.

What are the Basic Elements Needed to Accomplish an Effective Christian Education Ministry?
Click on the headings below to learn more about the various components involved in this process.
Philosophy Behind Christian Education:
A church needs to develop a sound philosophy for Christian education based on the Word of God. A sound philosophical statement is not enough, however, to experience the transformation of lives. What is on paper must be put into practice for it to make a difference. Too often an incongruence exists between what is on paper and the actual operative philosophy of the church's leadership.

Staff Needed:
The Christian Education ministry of the church is not a one person job. It takes many people working at different levels and in different capacities. When working as a team, key leaders of the various areas will have a much greater effectiveness than if they focus only on themselves and their own areas of responsibility. A Director of Christian Education certainly can provide pivotal leadership. Without the support of the pastor and other church leadership, this person can only go so far.
