I hope Durand high school folks enjoyed the well-attended Baccalaureate service. The decorations and refreshments were a real highlight for everyone - Thanks to the United Methodist volunteers, and the few others that worked so hard on this. Thanks to the Durand Ecumenical Council for sponsoring. Thanks to Pastor Eric Lemonholm from Trinity Lutheran for preaching and to Jenna Damon for giving the student address. Thank you also to Kathy Moran for representing St. Mary's church. Next year, if we do it again, I will want more student participation making choices about the service, students singing or playing or reading/speaking. I want this to be about the students themselves, with staff/faculty from the high school also involved or attending. We will be setting the dates for meetings and the service itself earlier in the school year, so folks can be involved. With fewer students active in Durand churches, we are looking for more connections, for a greater sense of community. We also hope that perhaps St. Mary's or Trinity Lutheran might organize setting up and cleaning up the delightful refreshments! Thank you everyone!
