Formed in 1896, FCC is a blending of everyday folks who share a common desire to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in a simple, consistent way. Most of us live in or around Durand and chances are you've met us. We're your neighbors, or perhaps our kids go to school together, or maybe we shop at the same market. We have chosen to be part of First Congregational Church because we love Jesus Christ and want to be decent people, good neighbors, better husbands and wives, and loving parents. We want to be authentic followers of Jesus Christ whether we are together in worship, at work, at school, or at home. We do not claim to be perfect and we don't think we're better than any other church. We try not to take ourselves too seriously, but we take Jesus Christ very seriously. In short, we're not a perfect church but we might just be perfect for you.
FCC gathers in our historic building that has been our home since 1898. A well-known local landmark, the building sits on the corner of Saginaw and Washtenaw Streets in downtown Durand. The church has a long, rich history that spans generations and continues to be a place of worship, love, respect, and belonging for all ages. It is a congregation that has stood the test of time, endured the trials of life, and remained a warm, friendly place where people can be comfortable, faith is strengthened, questions are encouraged, and everyone is welcome. We invite you to come and worship with us THIS Sunday. You will be greeted warmly and you might find a home.
