Trinity Lutheran Church-Durand, IL Trinity Lutheran Church in Durand, Illinois was founded by Norwegian Immigrants in 1844.

The original name of the congregation was Rock Ground and then Rock Run Lutheran Church. The name was changed to Trinity after a fire forced the congregation to relocate to the Trinity Lutheran English Chapel, which was an outreach ministry of the Rock Run congregation. Trinity still maintains the cemetery at the original Rock Run site and the North Rock Run site, which was a splinter group from the original Rock Run congregation.
