Congratulations to Rev. Dr Mauro Batista de Souza on being elected President of the Evangelical Church of Lutheran Confession in Brazil at their 35th Council in Florianopolis.

In a letter to Rev. Dr Batista de Souza following his election, LWF's General Secretary, Rev. Dr Anne Burghardt wished him and the leadership of the church "that you may be heralds, in word and deed, of the peace of Christ—a peace that does not ignore the wounds but builds a new heaven and a new earth through God’s grace and love for this world."
