Five Minutes of Faith (Ep. 107): Faith and Revelation
2 Peter 1:2-4 NKJV
"Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord... by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature..."
Grace and peace are multiplied as we grow in the knowledge of God. This knowledge is more than information; it is revelation given by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “When He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13 NKJV). Faith responds to that revelation with a willing heart. Faith says, “Lord, show me more of who You are. Teach me Your ways. Reveal Your promises to me.” As we believe and receive what the Spirit reveals, our understanding of God expands, and His grace and peace increase in our lives.
A powerful example is found in Peter. When Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 16:16-17 NKJV). Peter’s confession was born from divine revelation, not human reasoning. In the same way, faith welcomes the Holy Spirit’s revelation and embraces God’s truth. As we hunger for greater revelation, we gain access to His exceedingly great and precious promises and become increasingly partakers of His divine nature, reflecting Christ more and more each day.
