We give thanks to God for the life and witness of Chris Barnes. Over the past year, Chris has become an integral part of our church family through his faith, his prayers, his presence, his gifts, and his service. We mourn his passing with deep love and sympathy. Chris shared his testimony in a way that brought many of us closer to God, one another, and the mission of Jesus Christ in the world.

Please join family and friends on Saturday, August 29 at 2pm as we gather to celebrate Chris's life and legacy as a child of God, a servant leader, a pastor, a nurse, an educator, a son, husband, and father, a theater nerd, a Con lover, and - most importantly - a humble man who sought to follow the way of Jesus Christ in extending grace, love, and salvation to the world. Celebration of Life and Worship begins at 2pm followed by visitation in the fellowship hall of Hood Memorial Christian Church.

Please hold the Barnes family in your prayers throughout the days ahead.

It’s time for school, but I have to give a big shout out to all our youth and children for the many ways they served God this summer. They delivered meals weekly to the Cottondale residents, made visits to the homebound, engaged in Bible Study, helped in VBS, and served at the food pantry. They let the light of Christ shine through their service!
