This past Sunday, Bishop Michael Fisher of the Diocese of Buffalo celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for 31 Candidates at Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Dunkirk.
Just days before Confirmation, one of our high school candidates, Landon Trippi, experienced a medical emergency and underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix. As the family was making the trip home from Buffalo shortly before the Confirmation Mass, they asked if arrangements could be made for Landon to be confirmed from the car.
Our pastor, Fr Bob Owczarczak, brought their request to Bishop Fisher. The Bishop didn’t hesitate to ensure that Landon would receive the Sacrament, and insisted that he would visit Landon’s home to Confirm him there.
Following the Confirmation Mass, Bishop Fisher followed through, and still vested from the liturgy, went to Landon’s home to personally administer the Sacrament of Confirmation.
These photos capture this beautiful moment of pastoral care. We are deeply grateful to Bishop Fisher for his generosity, compassion and witness to Christ’s love for his people.
Please keep Landon and his family in your prayers as he continues his recovery.
