St. Mark Lutheran Church

St. Mark Lutheran Church St. Mark is a Reconciling in Christ congregation in the ELCA, dedicated to “Boldly Sharing God’s Love and Grace.”

Mark is a spiritual community that celebrates the gifts of God that empower us to engage in the struggles of life, to care for each other, and to serve Christ where we work and live. We welcome the participation of people of all ages, faiths, ethnic backgrounds, sexual orientations, gender identities, educational backgrounds, and economic conditions – all who want to join in community to honor God

and be of service to people. We recognize that each person is a unique creation of God and by the grace of God is called a “child of God.”

I write to you to share an update on a service for our sister in Christ, Pat Croy. We will hold a Memorial Service this Saturday, April 25 at 2:30 p.m. to give thanks for her life and to rest in the promise of the resurrection.

You may read Pat’s obituary here:
https://obituaries.nationalcremation.com/obituaries/clearwater-fl/patricia-croy-12839879

Due to the short notice, we are in need of several volunteers to help make this service possible. If you are available to serve, please let me know as soon as you can:

2 Worship Hosts
2 Communion Assistants
1 Lector
2 Altar Guild volunteers (to set up and clean up communion for approximately 60 people)
Mary VanHaute will be producing live stream, so the service will be available online.

We also need a couple of volunteers to come to the church office tomorrow (Thursday, April 22) around 10:00 a.m. to help move chairs and tables in preparation for the service and reception.

Please let me (Pastor Katy) know by emailing, texting, or calling:
[email protected]
727-808-4684

Following the service, the family will host a light reception in the breezeway with finger foods, coffee, water, and lemonade. Carolyn Elliott is contacting members of our refreshment team to see if they are available to assist with the reception.

Thank you for your willingness to serve and support one another in this time of loss. Please keep Pat’s family in your prayers, trusting in the sure hope we have in Christ.

In Christ’s peace,
Pastor Katy

✨ Personal care items needed! ✨
Did you know that families visiting FEAST are permitted to request two personal care items during each visit? These items can include, but are not limited to items like toothpaste, toilet paper, shampoo, coffee, and much more. We would be grateful for your help in restocking these items - your donations make a difference!

Today we celebrated with joy as our 8th grade Confirmation youth, Emily Seiter and Meika Mueller, affirmed their baptism! In the Lutheran tradition, Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation) is a meaningful milestone where young people publicly profess their faith and say “yes” to the promises God made to them in baptism—promises of grace, love, and lifelong belonging in God’s family.

We give thanks for Emily and Meika, and we celebrate alongside their families as these two amazing young women take this important step in their faith journey!

🐣 Don’t Miss These Easter FYIs – Your Sunday Guide!

Dear Friends in Christ,

Blessed Holy Saturday to you all. The church flowers are in full bloom (thanks to God and Carol Kitchen!) and we are all ready to welcome you to tomorrow's Easter celebration.

Here are a few helpful reminders:

1. Service Time Change
Worship begins at 10:00 a.m.

2. Plan Ahead for Traffic
Beach traffic has been heavier in the late morning, so please allow a little extra time to arrive and park.

3. Parking Information
Part of the north parking lot will be roped off for the bounce house near the egg hunt and refreshments, but there should still be plenty of parking available. Covered parking is also available under the pavilion on the far north end of campus.

4. Easter Celebration Overview
Worship Service – 10:00 a.m.
Traditional Easter worship in the Sanctuary and online, with special music, Holy Communion, and a Children’s Message.

Easter Egg Hunt – 11:30 a.m.
Held in the Memorial Garden with age-group time slots and a bounce house for added fun.

Easter Refreshments – 11:30 a.m.
Join us after worship for fellowship and a festive spread of sweet and savory treats. Seating will be available in the breezeway.

5. Hospitality Reminder
We are expecting guests tomorrow! As always, please be your welcoming and joyful selves—help visitors feel at home. Offer your seat, show them where the restrooms are, and introduce them to others. Your kindness and warmth make St. Mark a place where everyone can celebrate the joy of Easter.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers who have helped make this a joyful celebration for our church community.

We look forward to celebrating with you!
In Christ,
Pastor Katy

Good Friday Prayer Stations
1pm - 6pm

Sometimes, we need a quiet moment or two to reflect on the meaning of Christ’s passion. Experiential Prayer Stations are set up in St. Mark’s sanctuary today to help us in our contemplation.

Each station includes a passage from scripture, reflection questions, a symbolic representation of part of Christ’s journey during the last week of his life, and suggestions for actions you may take to share in this journey.

Appropriate for families and individuals.
