Can you believe we are having a taste of fall? The decrease in humidity and cooler temperatures are a refreshing change. We invite you to join us Sunday at Cueni Brewing Co. in Dunedin for our church gathering; we may even get to sit outside. The sun is going down and the waters are not parted. The Egyptians are in hot pursuit. Imagine the sound of the chariots and hoof beats from the running horses. You aren’t in the front of the pack, you are in the back. You keep looking to see if the waters have parted and still it hasn’t happened. As the enemy gets closer, you can only look forward because you know what is behind you. AND THEN the sea is parted. You think “relief”. But the enemy continues to pursue you into the parted waters, but not close enough to get you. AND THEN, when you get to the place where you are going, the waters come crashing down behind you and the enemy is gone. Imagine! www.thefieldchurch.org

Some people think fruit of the Spirit is works,
They are actually character actions; or traits. They are for all humans, but Christians are given them as a direction or action on how to be at all times. Can you imagine what it would be like if Christians really walked and lived by the Fruit of the Spirit? There would not be any room for hate, racism, bigotry. We would be light in dark places without showing off. We would deliver hope and life. Imagine!

Would you be able to say “here I am, send me”? God was looking for someone to send to speak to His people. And if God asked you to minister to people the way Jesus did, with compassion, love, acceptance, would you be able to say, “here I am, send me”? We don’t always get to see the road we are going to travel. Sometimes the close up is clear but the rest is foggy like a mist. We may get to see shapes and outlines way off in the distance, but until we take the first step by saying here I am send me, it remains foggy.

Last year a group of us were called to start a church in an unusual place. We had to be willing, even in a cultural climate where Christians act in judgement instead of grace. They act this way to each other and to people who don’t even know God. And here we are. We stepped out in faith knowing it would not be easy. We have met wonderful people and believe we will meet many more.
