John Lutheran was founded on January 3, 1860 as a German speaking congregation in Dundee. Our current church building was built in 1890 and the current altar was built in 1910. The building received a historical site designation from the State of Michigan in 1993. John our members range in age from the very young to the very old. Our Sunday morning and Wednesday evening liturgies are often filled
with the sound of children. We welcome all people to worship with us and to become a part of our church family. John hosts a free, weekly God Works meal in our parish hall every Wednesday at 6:00pm. We are active in the Dundee area Interfaith Alliance and participate in the care and share program, which provides food to families in need. During lent we host weekly fish fries on Friday evenings.
