Community Announcement from Duncanville Islamic Center Leadership

Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm

Dear respected brothers and sisters,

We pray this message finds you in the best of īmān, health, and well-being.

The leadership of the Duncanville Islamic Center would like to share an important update regarding an internal matter that has recently been addressed.

As an organization entrusted with serving the community and safeguarding its resources, we are currently facing significant financial constraints while the masjid remains closed pending restoration. This situation has required the Board to carefully evaluate our responsibilities and capacity moving forward.

After thoughtful discussion and consultation, the Board has made the difficult decision to relieve the Imam of his duties, effective immediately. This decision was based on financial limitations and an inability to reach mutual agreement on contractual matters under the current circumstances.

We sincerely thank the Imam for his service to the community and ask Allah to reward him for his efforts and grant him success in his future endeavors.

We kindly urge our community members to uphold the values of our deen by refraining from speculation, assumptions, or the spread of unverified information. Let us preserve the dignity and honor of all individuals involved and remain united in our support for the masjid and its mission.

The Board continues to work closely with the public adjuster and insurance company to begin the restoration process. At the same time, we shall be actively exploring additional avenues to raise the necessary funds to reopen the masjid as soon as possible.

We remain committed to serving this community with transparency, integrity, and sincerity. We ask Allah to guide our decisions, place barakah in our efforts, and unite our hearts upon that which is just and pleasing to Him.

As Salam ‘Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu dear respected members of Duncanville Islamic Center,

We ask Allah to grant us patience and strength as we continue navigating this current trial concerning the masjid facility.

Alḥamdulillāh, we are pleased to share some positive progress. *A new roof has now been successfully installed*. This is a major step forward and we are grateful to everyone who has supported and made duʿā’.

At this time, the mold restoration process is still pending, as we are awaiting further feedback and direction from the insurance company. We appreciate your patience as we work through the proper procedures to ensure everything is handled correctly and responsibly.

However, we would like to *invite our community members to join us tonight right after ʿIshā at the Fieldhouse for an important discussion about the way forward*. Your presence, input, and unity are essential as we plan the next steps together.

May Allah place barakah in this masjid, protect it, and make us among those who serve His houses with sincerity.

*Ramadan Update*

As Salam Alaykum Waramatullah Wabarakatu,

Please be advised that Duncanville Islamic Center is closed effective immediately until further notice.

This closure is a precautionary measure following the discovery of mold, which has raised environmental safety concerns.

The health of our community is our top priority. We have engaged specialists to conduct a thorough remediation and ensure the building meets all safety standards before reopening.

We will provide updates as soon as they become available. We are currently exploring other locations to host Taraweeh.
