Field trip Fridays! đ Each Friday for the month of September I had the privilege of taking my Sunday school kids on a field trip. We played, we sang, we ate, we cooked, we painted, we pulled weeds, we visited the elderly, and more. But most of all we learned about how God is with us everywhere we go and in everything we do. We can experience Him and bring Glory to Him in the everyday things we do in life. Our theme was called E.D.G.E. (Experience & Discover GOD Everywhere). The goal was to teach the kids that they can experience and discover God in even the smallest way. That we can see Him in a simple little rose rock like we seen at the museum or in the horse statue that Leandra so enjoyed and didnât want to get down from, in the choo-choo train that Conner was so excited to learn about, and even just playing at the park that Jeremiah seemed to really enjoy. Each Friday morning we meet at the church and had our lesson, learned scripture and sang songs. The first Friday focused on (I am Kind) and we made candy bouquets and took them to our shut-ins and prayed with them, one lady that is still in her home, we cleaned out her flower bed and watered her bushes. We had Braums burgers for lunch and played at the park and on the way home we got ice cream. The next Friday focused on (I am Creative) and we went to the Chisholm Trail heritage museum and learned about the cattle drive and how cowboyâs got the cows up the trail and through rivers. There was a wonderful art gallery so that inspired us to paint. These kids made some really cool art, they are all very creative. Then we had pizza and played at the park. It was hot that day so on the way home we stopped at the sonic for a slushy. đ. The last Friday focused on (I am Wise) and we learned the difference between being smart and being wise. When we are wise and make good choices in our life then we can bring Glory to God. We went to the Stephenâs county historical and railroad museum and learned about lots of things in the old days. We made homemade applesauce and pumpkin butter to share with everyone at church. We had chili dogs for lunch and of course the day wouldnât be complete without a trip to the park. After the park we had snacks that looked like smilesââSmile God loves you!
To wrap everything up the kids and I presented EDGE and field trip Fridays to the church for our 5th Sunday evening service singspiration plus. We shared with them the scriptures we learned, we put on a short skit, talked about things we seen and did at the museums and then sang and performed a song we learned called âWhen I look up God is Everywhereâ !!! It was truly a blessing to spend time with these kiddos and to know God was with us every step of the way in everything we did and said đ To God Be The Glory đ„°
