When the world looks on, they at first imperceptibly - then suddenly, see that Mercy and Grace is the glue that holds Christ’s followers together, as the Body of Christ. Yet in our identity as discrete individuals with personal projects, it is the same glue that holds us together as a community in common worship. The one intensifies rather than diminishes the other. It is then that the world will know we are Christian’s by our love.
There can be no doubt that as we live out our lives, somewhat under the radar in an insane and wicked culture, we can join with Saint Paul, in saying, “There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you will keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.” (Philippians 1)

The proverbial Apple -
……that forbidden plant with its temptations are older than Eden, and goes back further even than we do.
So too the promise, or threat, that forbidden plants have always made to the innocent creature as in the first garden who would taste them—the promise, that is, of knowledge and the threat of each supplicants mortality and even standing with the Creator of all creation.

As we move towards this Holy Week please be sure to pray especially for the 35 million Orthodox people of Ukraine, some of whom again this year will not be able to get to church out of fear or because of their Orthodox neighbors to the north have destroyed their churches. For three years they have been undergoing their own kind of Lent and Holy Week.
May we who remain secure and sometimes at ease in Zion in our places of worship, we must not forget our fellow faith followers who have remained in a state of war for years now yet hardly mentioned in the news nor do we hear updates of the state of the church that is often impacted at the street level as well as the powers of darkness. Carry a prayer for them this coming week!
