"Communion" is the story of a beloved, gay Catholic school teacher who is fired for marrying his longtime partner, making national news when he refuses to remain silent. It is a filmed version of the acclaimed autobiographical stage work by Matthew LaBanca. Blending storytelling, music, and disarming humor, the film explores spiritual trauma, reconciliation, and the human need for community.
