What could be better that hearing the Word of God and learning more about the Christian life through study and discussion of the Bible with your friends and neighbors in this beautiful back-country community? Our beliefs follow literally what is written in the Bible, New King James Version. We

are a fellowship church and enjoy the company of our friends and neighbors. Come as you are, all are welcome. Enjoy singing hymns with piano or guitar accompaniment. Hear Pastor Howard preach on useful Biblical passages that are important to the way you live your life. We are a small congregation, but we would like to increase our size. We need YOU to come join us in order to accomplish that! Come “try us out” next Sunday. We are here for you and because of you, so you will always be treated with respect at the Dulzura Community Church. For more information, contact Pastor Howard at (619) 440-7396, or email Tom Smerk at [email protected] or just show up next Sunday. Consider this as your invitation to join us in weekly worship. What is a church? Throughout the Scriptures church and congregation refer to people, never to a building. God's Church is made up of people called to follow Jesus Christ. It is composed of disciples or students of Jesus Christ who convene to receive God's instruction. God's true Church is composed of those who have been called out of this satanically influenced world (2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2; 1 Peter 2:9) to become a spiritually converted group dedicated to following God's ways as taught in the Bible. The Bible is the standard by which all religious bodies are to be measured. Jesus Himself stated that He would build His Church and that it would never die out (Matthew 16:18). Several decades later the apostle Paul referred to this spiritual body of people as "the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground (foundation) of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). God's Church has never been a large, popular body. While many traditional Christian denominations today are large and powerful, the Bible reveals that God's true Church always would be small in numbers, somewhat scattered and often persecuted. Due to their small numbers, many of the early congregations met in private homes rather than in large halls or buildings (Luke 12:32; Romans 16:5; Colossians 4:15). Nevertheless, though scattered and few in number, God has always cared for and spiritually nourished those He has called (2 Timothy 2:19; Hebrews 13:5). Why attend church?
• The Bible commands It
• A source of strength, safety and refuge for its members
• A classroom for spiritual development
• A sanctuary for truth and justice
• If the church is to continue to stand, someone must be interested in it
• People measure a person’s sincerity by his interest in the church
• Because your children need to be taught spiritual values
• Because the world is at war with the forces of evil and you want to be on the right side! Which church should I attend? We must use the Bible as the standard to determine if the teachings of a church are essential and in agreement with the Bible. This demands a diligent effort to study the Bible, an open mind, and constant attention to prayer. Once we have established such a pattern, then we must compare the church that we now attend to the pattern. If it does not coincide with God's pattern for a local church, then we must either seek a new church that is following God's pattern, or we must try to reform the church with which we now attend. Remember the passage:

"Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near" (Isaiah 55:6). How can you do this? Seek Him the way He intended—in fellowship with His Church. Come join us next Sunday morning at 10AM and become part of our spiritual family!
