Early Response Teams (ERT) Training will be held at Newnan First on Saturday, June 27, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To serve on an ERT, you will be responding during the initial phase of a disaster. The work will vary from clearing bush & debris, mucking out homes, chainsaw work, and providing a caring, Christian presence. Grab some friends and learn how YOU can be the hands and feet after a disaster strikes.

The South Georgia Annual Conference approved the Common Table Report on Unification by a vote of 284 to 10, marking a significant step forward in the ongoing unification process.

North Georgia, it's your turn! You will have the opportunity to weigh in on the same report when delegates gather June 17–20. Those wishing to review the full report ahead of the vote can find it beginning on page 31 of the conference handbook. You can find the handbook on the website.

For members seeking more information or wanting to submit questions before the vote, a Zoom Town Hall Meeting has been scheduled for June 10 at 6:30 p.m. Please register on the website to receive the Zoom link.

Once both Annual Conferences have cast their votes, the matter will advance to the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference, which will call a special virtual session in August 2026 to take up the measure.

What does it look like to be the church in action? It looks like this.

Since Hurricane Helene devastated the Augusta area in 2024, our conference disaster response team has been rebuilding more than homes. They've been rebuilding lives, one family at a time. With over 400 requests for help, the mission is far from over.

We need committed teams willing to give one week in the Augusta region to serve alongside us. Just a willing heart, and we can get you trained for the rest. This is your moment to show up for people who need it most.

Last week, the Center for Clergy Excellence held the annual New Ordinard and Retiree Luncheon. While we say, " see you later" to some clergy who have served North Georgia, we also welcomed a new crop of ordinands. We will all get to celebrate them, whether retiring or just starting their journey, in Athens at Annual Conference in June.
