The rhubarb harvest is underway! Sisters, associates, staff, and volunteers recently gathered in the Monastery’s rhubarb patch to pick fresh rhubarb in preparation for the Annual CHUM Rhubarb Festival—a wonderful community tradition supporting neighbors in need. Thank you to everyone who shared their time, energy, and good spirits to help make this event possible!

Be sure to stop by the Annual CHUM Rhubarb Festival 2026 on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 6822 Grand Ave., Duluth, for delicious rhubarb treats, fellowship, and fun—all for a good cause!

Last Thursday, Sister Kathleen Hofer, Sister Beverly, colleagues, family, friends, and other Sisters gathered to celebrate Janis Kivela Hooey on her retirement after 33 years of service at Benedictine. Many heartfelt tributes were shared, honoring Janis for her leadership and the way she so beautifully lived the Benedictine values.

With gratitude and warm wishes, we say farewell to Janis as she begins this new chapter. Thank you, Janis, for sharing your time, talents, and caring spirit. May retirement bring you joy, rest, and many blessings!

Sisters enjoyed attending Stellabration 2026 and celebrating the mission of Catholic education at Stella Maris Academy. It was a wonderful evening of community, fellowship, and support for students and families as Stella Maris continues to form future leaders grounded in faith and learning. We are grateful to be part of such a meaningful celebration!
