1st Baptist Duchesne

1st Baptist Duchesne The Duchesne Christian Church seeks to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ, bring glory to His name, and to share the Good news of His salvation with others.

We cherish His Word, the Bible. Our motto is: Love God and Love people. OUR CHURCH

Ministry Approach

OUR PURPOSE IS TO GLORIFY GOD - AS WE WORSHIP, INTRODUCE PEOPLE TO JESUS CHRIST, AND HELP THEM GROW IN THIS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD

WE PURSUE THIS PURPOSE BY...

PROCLAMATION:
Shining the light of the Gospel of Christ into the darkness that surrounds us (2Cor. 4:1-6)

We practice a con

fidence in Romans 1:16 (i.e. “the Gospel is the power of God to salvation”) by preaching a clear Gospel message that includes the whole counsel of God, and trusting that God’s Word has the wisdom and power to radically change lives. (2 Tim. 3:16-17) We believe that when God’s Word is faithfully proclaimed (in song, preaching, counseling, Bible study, etc.) that darkness will either recoil in offense or bow in a repentance that leads to freedom and joy. We desire to build a culture of intentional outreach that is based upon a strong sense of co-laboring with our fellow heirs in salvation in order to build Christ’s church for His glory. FOLLOWING:
Relentlessly asking what it means to follow Jesus (Mark 8:34)

We do our best to distinguish beliefs and practices that are merely cultural from beliefs and practices that are truly biblical. An important way we do this is by closely observing Jesus and all those that did their best to imitate Him (e.g. Paul, etc.); and trying to think, feel, and act in the same manner. TRANSPARENCY:
Creating an environment where we can safely remove our masks (Eph. 4:25)

We make a deliberate effort to foster an environment that encourages people to remove their masks and reveal their brokenness in the safety of a church community. We focus on our hearts where idols and root sins that supplant Christ are discovered and removed, as opposed to focusing primarily on our external appearance and behavior. GOSPEL: Keeping God's unconditional forgiveness central to our thinking (Rom. 3:23-26, 8:14-17) When we remove our masks and really challenge ourselves spiritually, we will find ourselves in desperate need of God’s grace. Ultimate healing is found in the love of God as demonstrated through God’s willing sacrifice of His Son Jesus on the cross for the forgiveness of ALL our sin, guilt, and brokenness. This results in freedom and joy. CHALLENGE :
Deliberately doing things that stretch our faith (Mt. 14:28)

In order to encourage ourselves to grow spiritually and to accomplish the most we can for God’s Kingdom, we must continually challenge ourselves by deliberately pursuing activities that stretch our faith and by developing our spiritual leadership in order to create other spiritual leaders

DEPENDENCE:
Relying on God to demonstrate His power (Phil. 3:10)

If we properly challenge ourselves, we will find ourselves in situations where we must depend upon God. Deliberate dependence upon God invites Him to work in ways that grow our faith, glorify Him, and give us the privilege of beholding His glory. SIMPLICITY:
Maintaining a disciplined focus on high impact ministry (Eph. 5:15-17)

As we behold God’s glory, believers are transformed and unbelievers are converted. Therefore, we want to minimize things in our lives that take our time, resources, and focus away from beholding the Glory of Christ and leading others to behold His glory also. We do our best to ensure that our church activities and ministry system reflect this goal.

Hi everyone, I wonder if all of the parents of the youth age children would just do me one quick favor. Send me a direct message, it would be private and confidential, and let me know if your kids are planning to go to Bible camp this year OR if they are not. I would like to know one way or the other, either way. Youth need to be signed up within the next week to 10 days. Earlier if they would like a Bible camp shirt. So please just shoot me a DM real quick. Thank you! Love you all!

An encouraging sermon for the youth of today

05/23/2026

Hello everyone! I just want to encourage all of you to make sure that your teenagers are at church tomorrow if at all possible. In light of graduation, I want to address the youth and the challenges to their faith. This will be a critically important sermon for all of us.

Parents and families, I want to strongly encourage you to make sure that your teenagers, Junior High kids, and high school kids are at church tomorrow. I will be giving a very important sermon directed at our youth, (but is critically valuable for everyone). I encourage you to wake your kids up and bring them to church. See you tomorrow.

Remember tonight at 6:00pm we will be doing our city clean up assignment. Meet at the church, we will hand out bags and such. With enough people, it usually goes very smoothly.
"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Col 3:23-24

From drugs, alcohol, abusive relationships and even homelessness, come hear how one mother found Jesus and now serves to pull other women from the same darkness and into God's light and love.

Men, we still need another two or three fruit bowls. Also Kris Maylet has volunteered to go downstairs to do Children's church. but we need at least one more man to go down into the belly of the beast, to give all of the women a break from children's church and Nursery.

We are also looking for girls who can do the nursery. Please let me know if you can help with children's church and if your kids can help with Nursery.
