We are grateful for the continued support and requests for information. Plans are being coordinated with local, state, and federal agencies in an effort to help Cambridge City. Here is what we know right now:
Cambridge City Christian Church (106 West Church Street, Cambridge City) is the designated local drop off/pick up location for supplies (food, water, cleaning supplies, clothing, furniture, etc.). We know people want to help, so please use them as the local resource. Thank you! The Central UMC (1425 East Main Street, Richmond) is the designated location serving the Richmond area for community donations and assistance.
2. ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ง๐ญ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ/๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ฌ wanting to help clean up Cambridge City: Because the area has been declared a disaster area, all volunteer efforts must be coordinated with local officials and community organizations and will begin when it is safe to enter flood-damaged areas. More information will be shared on the Cambridge City page and Wayne County Emergency Management Agency page as it becomes available.
Documenting damage to homes and businesses will be essential. Take pictures of flooding, watermarks, etc. that shows the extent of damage. You will need this later for reporting purposes. Local officials will be conducting damage assessments in the coming days.
As communities across Wayne County recover from severe flooding, the Wayne County, Indiana, Foundation, in coordinated efforts with local communities and county stakeholders, is helping direct financial support to those impacted. Donations can be made to the Wayne County Cares Fund, established to provide support to communities affected by disasters. Donations will be distributed directly to communities impacted by flooding. Donations are being accepted online, in person at the Foundation office or by mail. If you would like your donation to support a specific community, select โdesignated purposeโ when making your donation and indicate the community you wish to support.

Duke Energy has been working diligently throughout the day and will continue working into the nighttime hours to restore power. Some customers in Cambridge City could see electricity restored as early as tomorrow around midday, tentatively. We appreciate Duke Energyโs continued efforts and ask residents to please be patient as crews work through the affected areas.
Our Town Utility Department continues to work diligently to address our water system. We remain under a boil advisory. We are asking all residents to continue to conserve water while our utility crews work to restore and stabilize the system.
We have received many questions from residents regarding trash, flood debris and other materials. Please do not place trash, debris or flood-damaged materials in the streets. We will be communicating specific disposal plans and instructions tomorrow. Please wait for those instructions before moving materials into the street.
We know this is an incredibly difficult time for our community. Thank you to our residents, utility crews, first responders, volunteers, businesses, churches, neighboring communities and everyone else who is working together to help Cambridge City recover. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available.
