Reflection to the Leaders of Angola, Africa, and the World
"The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." (Psalm 24:1)
Man belongs to God.
The world was created by Him, and man was created by Him and for Him. No authority exists outside of His sovereign design, for “there is no authority except that which God has established” (Romans 13:1).
In light of this eternal truth, I exhort every leader — from the local community level to the presidency of nations — to humbly submit to God, seeking guidance, wisdom, and reverence from Him, for the power they exercise does not belong to them by their own merit, but by divine appointment.
Among leaders, there are those who serve with gratitude, reverence, and love for the people — citizens who reflect the heart of a servant. However, there are also wolves, corrupt and disloyal men who contaminate work teams, tarnish the reputation of governance, and oppress the people entrusted to their care.
To these wolves, a solemn warning:
God is sending David to overthrow Goliath.
It does not matter whether the position is small or high — in the neighborhood, commune, municipality, province, nation, continent, or the world — Goliath will fall, for God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).
This new year requires a change of mindset, for the future is not transformed by repeating the mistakes of the past. Where it was previously impossible to advance, now is the time for repentance, correction, and righteous decision-making.
The world groans under the weight of terror, calamity, injustice, and pain (Romans 8:22). Therefore, I also address a word to pastors and spiritual leaders:
Fulfill your calling as intercessors for God’s people. The same people who suffer are the ones who sustain the work with their offerings. Do not abandon the flock to the hands of wolves. Prepare, teach, warn, and protect, for the Lord will hold accountable those appointed as watchmen (Ezekiel 33:6).
When the Church prays, leaders are transformed, because prayer moves heaven and aligns the earth with God’s will. Leaders and the governed need to understand that authority is a ministry, not a personal privilege.
May Africa and the world return to the fear of the Lord, for “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
May every leader govern with justice.
May every leader serve with reverence.
May all power bow before God.
Signed,
Primate Raby Chumbu
