Where does ministry actually happen?

Not just inside church buildingsโ€ฆ and you don't have to cross a border to be part of what God is doing.

We've seen it in the most ordinary places:
๐ŸŒณ At the park
๐Ÿ˜๏ธ Around the neighborhood
๐Ÿ›’ In the aisles of our local Calimax grocery store
๐ŸŒฎ At the taco stand
๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Sitting around kitchen tables
๐Ÿ’ฌ In everyday conversations that quietly turn into something sacred

These are the moments when a safe space is created โ€” someone listens, someone prays, someone simply shows up with God's loveโ€ฆ and a heart opens. A struggle gets shared. Heaven leans in.

Here's the truth: He's already placed YOU somewhere on purpose.
โœจ Your neighborhood.
โœจ Your circle.
โœจ Your table.

So we want to ask you:
๐Ÿ‘‰ Where have you seen God move in your everyday life?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Where might He be inviting you to step in?

You don't need a passport. You don't need a title. You don't need a stage. You just need a willing heart and the courage to be present where you already are.

You can do this too โ€” right where you are. ๐Ÿ’›

Need a little help learning how? We'd love to walk alongside you. Send us a message โ€” we're here for it.

**Bakers at the Border โ€“ Standing with Cuba**

As we continue to lock arms with our brothers and sisters at Vision Latin America, we ask you to lift up Cuba in prayer. Here's what's happening on the ground right now:

Cuba's national electrical grid is growing more unstable by the day. Prolonged scheduled and unscheduled power outages are hitting the country daily โ€” Havana included. These blackouts are disrupting water supply, lighting, refrigeration, and communication, leaving families without the basics so many of us take for granted. On top of that, a serious fuel shortage is choking transportation and creating long, exhausting lines at gas stations across the island.

On May 13, 2026, reports came in of widespread protests throughout Havana as citizens cried out over the relentless blackouts. While these demonstrations have not been directed at the U.S. or American citizens, accounts indicate that some have been met with aggressive police repression against Cuban protestors.

Please join us in praying:

- For protection over the Cuban people, especially the many believers walking out their faith in the middle of hardship
- For God's provision โ€” light, water, food, fuel, and peace โ€” for families in need
- For wisdom and courage for pastors and churches serving their communities
- That the Lord would continue to lead His people and reveal Himself as Provider and Sustainer
- For peaceful resolution and restraint in the streets

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." โ€” Psalm 23:1

Cuba is not forgotten. Heaven hears every cry, and the Church is rising. Thank you for standing with us, with Vision Latin America, and with the beautiful people of Cuba. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep going.

ยกFeliz Dรญa de las Madres!

In Mexico, Mother's Day always falls on May 10 โ€” and let us tell you, it is a BIG deal. Across the country, moms are celebrated, spoiled, and appreciated to the highest degree. As it should be.

This past Sunday, we got to witness it firsthand in El Zorrillo, not far from Rosarito Beach. Our dear friends Mario and Silvia, along with the family at Iglesia Monte de Jehovรก, threw a beautiful celebration honoring the mamรกs of their community โ€” with games, laughter, gifts, and (our personal favorite part) the men of the church rolling up their sleeves to cook fish tacos for everyone. The mothers got to sit, relax, and be served โ€” exactly the way it should be on their special day.

There is something so powerful about watching a community pour love into the women who hold everything together. The mothers. The grandmothers. The aunties. The spiritual moms. The ones who feed us, pray for us, and carry us when we can't carry ourselves.

To every mom in El Zorrillo, in Rosarito, in Hilliard, Dublin, and everywhere in between โ€” thank you. We see you. We celebrate you. We are grateful for you.

And a huge thank you to Mario, Silvia, and the Iglesia Monte de Jehovรก family for letting Bakers at the Border be part of such a joyful day. Days like this remind us why we do what we do.

๐Ÿ™ A Ministry Update from Bakers at the Border ๐Ÿ™

A little over a year ago, we introduced you to Victor and Juana in Puebla, Mexico โ€” faithful servants launching their 4th community group and sustaining their ministry through a small handcrafted apron business. Their beautiful creations fund both their family and their efforts to bring the hope of Christ to an area that desperately needs it.

At that time, their equipment was failing and material costs were skyrocketing. Because of God's grace and YOUR generosity, they were able to replace their sewing machine and keep their outreach going. Thank you. ๐Ÿงตโค๏ธ

Fast forward to today โ€” Victor and Juana are pressing forward in incredible ways! They are actively working to plant a church in Taxco AND nurturing a home church in San Pedro de la Jolla. God is moving!

But they need our help again.

Victor is in desperate need of a vehicle. Without one โ€” and unable to use taxis โ€” he simply cannot get to the various groups and churches he serves. He's missing services and the people who depend on him.

And while working to save for a car, Juana was involved in an accident and was injured. ๐Ÿ’”

Bakers at the Border has made a significant donation toward their needs โ€” but the gap remains. If you feel led to give, every dollar goes directly to supporting Victor, Juana, and the communities they serve.

Thank you for standing with our friends in Christ.

๐Ÿ™ CUBA PRAYER UPDATE | Every Saturday we lift up the island of Cuba โ€” here's the latest from the field.

Our brothers and colleagues โ€” Martin, Mariano, Samuel, and Luis โ€” recently traveled to Cuba to offer assistance, prayer, and support on the ground. We are grateful to report that everyone is home safely and the mission was accomplished. The Mission Team is united, happy, and ready for whatever God has next.

The Church in Cuba is strong. More than 200 churches have been impacted through this work, and the body of Christ there remains focused and resilient โ€” actively helping one another and their local communities even in the most difficult of circumstances. But there is a general despair among the Cuban people as they face deep fear and uncertainty about what comes next geopolitically. The need for prayer and presence has never been greater.

If you feel led to help, support can be directed through our sister organization, Vision Latin America (VLA). Through the 5 Loaves & 2 Fishes initiative, VLA is meeting people where they are โ€” providing food, medicine, and essential supplies to those in need. Every gift makes a difference for a people who are waiting, hoping, and trusting God through what comes next.

Cuba is not forgotten. Keep praying with us โ€” set aside some time each Saturday to lift up the island and its people. ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บโค๏ธ

We see it happen all the time โ€” God showing up right in the middle of real life.

Recently, we had the honor of sitting with two friends who were walking through a difficult place in their ministry relationship.

There was tension. Misunderstanding. Hurt. Unforgiveness.

Together, we slowed down. We prayed. We listened. We gently walked through what was really going on beneath the surface.

And something beautiful happened โ€” they repented. They forgave one another. And little by little, the distance began to shrink.

That's just who Jesus is. Psalm 147:3 reminds us โ€” "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

He sees what's hidden. He restores what feels broken. He leads people back to one another โ€” back to unity. He doesn't waste the hard moments. He redeems them.

Getting to witness even the very first steps of that kind of healing? It's sacred. It's holy ground.

We believe God wants to bring that same healing to ministry relationships all along the border and beyond. Wounds that have gone unspoken. Tensions that have been buried. Walls that have gone up between people who are called to serve together.

**Jehovah Rapha โ€” the God Who Heals โ€” is still at work.**

Would you join us in praying for healing in ministry relationships today? Pray for humility. Pray for courage. Pray for the kind of forgiveness that only God can give.

He is faithful. He is near. And He is not finished yet. ๐Ÿ™

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บ God is on the move in Cuba โ€” and we are witnessing it firsthand.

Through our partnership with Vision Latin America, the Five Loaves & Two Fish project is doing exactly what its name suggests: multiplying what little there is into something miraculous.

From the eastern shores to the western tip of the island, over 200 churches are being strengthened โ€” not with abundance, but with exactly what's needed.

Rice. Beans. Oil. The essentials of survival.

And yet, through these simple provisions, something profound is happening: hope is coming alive again.

Every Saturday, believers in both Mexico and Cuba are uniting in prayer โ€” standing together in faith, trusting God to continue providing for His people, body and soul.

"If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land." โ€” 2 Chronicles 7:14

He said He will heal their land. Not just their hearts. Not just their bodies. Not just broken systems or failing infrastructure. The land โ€” all of it โ€” is in His hands.

Will you join us in prayer this Saturday?

๐Ÿ™ Pray for provision.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for strength and endurance for the Church in Cuba.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for repentance from Santeria and witchcraft.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for healing โ€” for the people and for the land.
Jesus is faithful. He always has been. He always will be. ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

Friends...we have to share what God has been doing in our neighborhood. ๐Ÿ™Œ

The park next to Grace Church has been... rough. Gang graffiti. Trash and broken glass everywhere. Honestly, not the kind of place you felt good about your kids playing near.

But we didn't walk away from it. We prayed over it. We walked through it and prayed with people in it. We picked up trash and cleaned up glass. We showed up on Easter Sunday with easter eggs and the Gospel, inviting families to come experience Jesus with us.

And God moved. People in that park gave their lives to Jesus. Families started coming to church. The neighborhood started to feel the difference.

Then THIS week โ€” the city government rolled in. Cut the grass. Hauled the trash. Painted everything. That park looks brand new. Our kids and parents feel safe. Our community is taking notice.

That's what prayer does. That's what showing up does.

One church. One neighborhood. Real change.

If one church can transform a park through prayer, cleanups, and showing up consistently โ€” what could happen in your neighborhood if the churches in your city decided to stop competing and start collaborating? What's one thing holding your community back that the Church could step into?

He is risen!

And because of that โ€” everything is different.

Death doesn't get the last word. Brokenness doesn't get the last word. Isaiah 53:5 (NIV) tells us " But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." We are so thankful for the peace and healing we receive through Jesus' sacrifice. We are thankful for eternal life that God has given and we look forward to it.

That God has a plan for each one of us and loves us so much that he sacrificed his son so we can have a relationship with him now and live with him forever! This is the hope we share with others through coaching pastors and leaders, supporting marriages, planting churches, and praying over people who feel forgotten and just sharing our struggles with one another and pointing each other to God.

This weekend we are gathering Grace Church together โ€” and the following weekend, we'll be prayer walking the Lucio Blanco community, where a new worship space is being prepared. We are praying to take spiritual dominion over the neighborhood and the park next door โ€” a space marked today by gang tagging- and we trusting will one day be known for being filled with the love of Jesus and presence of the Holy Spirit instead. ๐Ÿ™

More than 30 faith communities have already been planted across Mexico because someone was willing to go. This new worship space is the next chapter. ๐ŸŒฑ

The same power that rolled that stone away is at work in small towns south of the border right now. New life is possible โ€” there is hope each person for families, in marriages, and in communities that feel divided.

This Resurrection Sunday, would you join us in prayer?

Pray for us. Pray for the communities we serve. Pray that the resurrection hope we carry every day keeps spreading โ€” one life, one family, one neighborhood at a time.

Happy Easter from south of the border. He is risen indeed.

Holy Week looks a little different on the border.

While many are busy with Easter prep โ€” egg hunts, family dinners, church services โ€” Jon and Mindy Baker are doing what they do every week: showing up for families in Mexico's borderland region who are searching for hope, healing, and community.

That's kind of what Holy Week is all about, isn't it? Jesus didn't wait for people to come to Him. He went to them. He met them in their mess, their grief, their questions. That's the heartbeat of the Bakers' ministry.

Rosarito Beach comes alive during Holy Week. It's also a two-week school vacation across Mexico โ€” the city fills with travelers, beach crowds, and a busy party scene.

But underneath all of it, there are people. Real people. And the Bakers are right in the middle of it, planting seeds. ๐ŸŒฑ

After a brief rest this week, they'll be gathering Grace Church together this weekend โ€” and then the following weekend, they'll be prayer walking the Lucio Blanco community, where a new worship space is being prepared. They'll be taking spiritual dominion over the neighborhood, and especially the park next door โ€” a space currently marked by gang tagging that they're believing will one day be covered in Jesus' love instead. ๐Ÿ™

More than 30 faith communities have already been planted across Mexico because someone was willing to go. This is the next chapter.

On Resurrection Sunday, the community will rise early to watch the sunrise together โ€” a beautiful, unified act of faith. The Bakers will be there.

Would you stop and pray for them today?
๐Ÿ™ Pray for Jon, Mindy, and Alejandro.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for the Lucio Blanco neighborhood and the families who don't yet know something is being built for them.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for Grace Church โ€” and for those who are considering baptism very soon.
๐Ÿ™ Pray for new disciples, and for people to take their next step with Jesus.

He is risen. And the work goes on. ๐ŸŒ„

The Border crossing between San Diego and Tijuana is something to experience. There are more than 90,000 people crossing daily. The border has its own unique vibrant culture, the resilient people, the way faith and community are woven together here โ€” itโ€™s unlike anywhere weโ€™ve ever been. From the beaches of Rosarito to the hills around Ensenada and Tijuana, we see daily reminders that God is at work everywhere.

But what many outsiders donโ€™t see are the struggles โ€” the economic hardship, the families holding on by faith, the local leaders serving with limited resources but hearts full of the Holy Spirit. The Apostle Paul knew this kind of life well. In 2 Corinthians 4:7โ€“9 he writes:

โ€œBut we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.โ€ โ€” 2 Corinthians 4:7โ€“9

That is exactly what we witness in these people โ€” jars of clay carrying extraordinary treasure. We are blessed to be here and to walk alongside and encourage and equip the local churches and their leaders.

Our bi-vocational calling lets us connect authentically across all backgrounds. Weโ€™re not just โ€œthe missionariesโ€ โ€” weโ€™re neighbors, friends, and fellow travelers on this journey of faith, trusting the same God who called us here to carry it all to completion (Philippians 1:6).

If you want to learn more about how God is moving, here at the border , we would love to have a conversation and tell you more- better yet- come see the amazing things God is doing with your own eyes! Let God use Mexico to change you the way Heโ€™s changing us.
