After I was r@ped by a close family friend, he put me in a hot bath, with bleach.
The first real whipping I remember getting, was because I was trying to play a game with my brother called “lick the lollipop.” I was 5 years old. My grandmother had left me with a trusted family friend before this happened, and he was the one who introduced me to this game. At that age, I had no idea what was happening or what I was being exposed toWhen I was asked where I had learned to do this, I told my grandmother. She dealt with the situation, but unfortunately, the abuse did not stop there. My mother was a wild child herself, and she began leaving us with different people. Eventually, she became less involved and less caring about who was around us. The next abuser was much older, and a close family friend. I was 8. He told me we were getting married and he laid me on a white sheet on the floor, and r@ped me. I just remember the pain, and lots of blood. Afterwards, he told me to take a bath and he added bleach to the water, and he told me if I told anyone, he would k*ll my mother. He told me “you’re my wife now,” and he abused me for 2 more years.
Eventually, the abuse got much closer and more personal. My mother’s boyfriend started r@ping me, and another sibling, which resulted in a 10 year old getting pregnant. This shouldn’t have happened, because we told our mother. After she wouldn’t listen, I told the school counselor. CPS got involved, he wasn’t suppose to be in our home. Sadly my mom let him come back after a week, and he continued to r@pe us. We were called lairs and fast but after the pregnancy, we were put out. My mom picked our abuser over us, and she stuck by him until his dna exposed he was the father. All this let me down a dark road for many years. I experienced one bad relationship after another, carrying pain that I had never learned how to process. Then at 24 years old, tragedy struck again. I lost 3 of my children in a house fire. I crashed. Everything I experienced throughout my life, hit me all at once. I tried to take my life. I ended up in a mental institution. I wanted to numb the pain, but nothing stopped it. I remember looking in the mirror and seeing nothing in myself, but I saw my two living sons, who were depending on me. I got up, and found purpose. I’m an author of several books, and my life was put on the big screens. Now I travel the world, giving others hope. Life’s been a tough road, but I made it as far as I could in overcoming.
