It's not about us, brothers and sisters. None of this revolves around our own ✨glory.✨

It's all about God, and everything ought to be done after His revealed will and for His eternal glory. And, in order for us to rightly live in light of this, we must be willing to be absolute nobodies pointing everybody to the only Somebody that matters.

One man once said, "Preach the gospel. Die. And, be forgotten."

That is wise counsel.

William Carey said, "the less said about me, the better."

John the Baptist said, "I'm not even worthy to untie His sandals," and, "I must decease, He must increase."

Maybe we can learn a thing or two from godly saints of the past?

Paul exhorts us thusly: "Whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."

So, throw all delusions of grandeur into the trash. Forget trying to establish your own little kingdom and live for His glorious, unassailable, and lasting Kingdom.

Find all of your contentment in knowing that your reward is in heaven, living not for the applause of man, but for this glorious word from the Son of Man: "well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master."

Take the world, but give me Jesus!

"It is a poor sermon that gives no offense; that neither makes the hearer displeased with himself nor with the preacher."

~ George Whitefield (1714-1770)

“Prayer is beyond any question the highest activity of the human soul. Man is at his greatest and highest when upon his knees he comes face to face with God.”
- Martyn Lloyd-Jones

I do not come into this pulpit hoping that perhaps somebody will of his own free will return to Christ. My hope lies in another quarter. I hope that my Master will lay hold of some of them and say, "You are mine, and you shall be mine. I claim you for myself." My hope arises from the freeness of grace, and not from the freedom of the will. - C.H. Spurgeon

'Those sins that seem most sweet in life, will prove most bitter in death.'

"Before I thought upon my soul's salvation, I dreamed that my sins were very few. All my sins were dead, as I imagined, and buried in the graveyard of forgetfulness. But that trumpet of conviction, which aroused my soul to think of eternal things, sounded a resurrection-note to all my sins; and, oh, how they rose up in multitudes more countless than the sands of the sea! Now, I saw that my very thoughts were enough to damn me, that my words would sink me lower than the lowest Hell, and as for my acts of sin, they now began to be a stench in my nostrils so that I could not bare them. I reckoned that the most defied creature, the most loathsome and contemptible, was a better thing than myself, for I had so grossly and grievously sinned against Almighty God."

~ Charles Spurgeon 1834-1892
