Day three of our mission trip, Tuesday, had everyone eager to get started this morning! Temperature-wise, it's been a cooler trip so far, which is helping to keep energy levels up!

Site one: Today we finished creating the frame of our ramp, ran stringers, and started to cut and install deck boards. We're looking forward to laying more deck boards to make our ramp look more like a ramp!

Site two: On Tuesday, we started the morning by replacing the wooden retention boards alongside the sidewalk parallel to the ramp. In the process, we disturbed many spiders and insects! Next, we attached stringers to our posts from Monday and began building the landing at the base of the ramp. One of our team members cut our deck boards to exactly the right length, and we started setting them in place.

Site three: Today we created solid and safe joists for our decking, set and finished our stairs, including a concrete paver base. We began decking after some calculations for our board pattern!

As a bonus project, Sarah Metzger's sister and brother-in-law joined us for a day-long side quest to stain one of the ramps we built last June! We always enjoy coming back to see our families from previous years, and we're thankful that we had extra hands to complete the project.

When we returned from our worksites, we were treated to a potluck by our host church, Point Pleasant Presbyterian, and enjoyed fellowship with the community we are serving as they served us.

Day two of our mission trip involved meeting the homeowners of our three worksites, starting to (re)form relationships with each other and making plans for our respective builds.

Site one: We met with our very grateful homeowner. She is looking forward to getting a few holes in her floor and subfloor fixed and a 36 foot L shape ramp added to home’s front for safety. We dug 16 post holes and set most of them!

Site two: We are helping our homeowner by building a 32 foot wheelchair ramp and fixing her stairs. On Monday we dug 12 post holes for the ramp and cleared some debris from her creek to help prevent flooding into her yard.

Site three: We made plans and framed out a 10x 15 deck for a back of the house! Previously this was unable to be accessed and the homeowner is thrilled to be able to get out safely! Tomorrow we will start decking!

On Sunday, the nineteen-member Believe Team was commissioned for our week-long mission trip and headed out to Point Pleasant, West Virginia. This is our group’s ninth time returning to Point Pleasant, and, as always, we were welcomed warmly and have begun reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. We start working on three sites bright and early Monday morning!

✨ Join Us for Worship This Sunday! ✨

Worship with us this Sunday, June 14th, at 10:30 AM at Dublin Presbyterian Church.

During the service, we will commission our mission trip team as they prepare to travel to Point Pleasant, West Virginia, for a week of service and ministry. This year's mission trip theme is "Be the Light," a reminder that we are called to share God's love and hope wherever we go.

Rev. Nikki will bring an inspiring message entitled "On a Mission."

Dublin Presbyterian Church is an inclusive and affirming congregation where all people are welcomed, valued, and loved. No matter where you are on your faith journey, there is a place for you here.

March with us in the Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade!

Participating in the Pride Parade is an important way for us to demonstrate that Dublin Presbyterian Church is a place where all people are valued, loved, and welcomed. The LGBTQIA+ community has often experienced hurt, exclusion, and rejection from the wider Christian church. By showing up, we have the opportunity to offer a different message—one of grace, acceptance, and belonging. We march to remind people that they are beloved children of God and that there is a place for them not only at DPC, but in God’s Kingdom, exactly as they are.

The Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, June 20, with step-off beginning at 10:30 a.m. in downtown Columbus. Additional details regarding arrival times, parking, and logistics will be shared as we get closer to the event.

Please consider signing up this Sunday. The more people we have representing DPC, the stronger our witness of God’s love and inclusion will be. This is also a very family-friendly event, and children are welcome to participate.
