Happy mother’s day po sa lahat ng ating mga nanay, tumatayong nanay, nanay-in-laws, at nanay na pang espiritual. Praise God for the life of purpose He has bestowed upon you in the motherly role you have been given; it is a reflection of God’s nurturing love for us.

Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) is a Hebrew name meaning "The LORD is salvation" or "YHWH saves," derived from "Yeho" (a prefix for YHWH) and "shua" (to save or deliver).

As the root for the name Joshua and the earlier form of Yeshua (Jesus), it refers to God as the ultimate deliverer.

“Hosanna” is a Hebrew expression meaning "save us" or "save, I pray," derived from Psalm 118, which evolved into a shout of joyous praise and adoration. Historically shouted during religious processions, it blends a desperate plea for salvation with the triumphant recognition of a Savior or King, most notably during Jesus' entry into Jerusalem.

Another Holy Week Reflection…

Two angels in the tomb.
One at the head. One at the foot.

Was that just a detail…
or a divine design?

When Mary Magdalene looked into Jesus’ empty tomb, she saw two angels seated where His body had been, one at the head and one at the foot (John 20:12).

Now rewind to the Old Testament.

On the Ark of the Covenant, God commanded two cherubim to be placed on the cover, one on each side, facing the space between them, overshadowing the Mercy Seat (Exodus 25:18–22).

Two angels.
A sacred space between them.

On the Ark, that space was the Mercy Seat, the meeting place where God’s presence and mercy were revealed.

In the tomb, the space between the angels was where the body of Jesus had lain, the place where His blood had been, the evidence that the sacrifice was complete.

The message?

The Ark was never the end of the story.
It was a shadow pointing forward.

Jesus is the true Mercy Seat, the place where God’s justice and mercy meet perfectly in one person.

What looked like an empty tomb
was actually a declaration:
the work is finished, the sacrifice accepted, the way to God opened.

Coincidence?

Or a divine connection written into Scripture from the very beginning?

Word of the day: Holiness. Definition: to be set apart.

References:

“Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.””
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭14‬, ‭17‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming. As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.””
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭13‬-‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

King David was “the least” or youngest out of all his siblings. And his job as a shepherd was one of the lowliest, most mundane tasks, anyone could do at that time. Although it might seem like he was stuck there, not going anywhere, because David executed his task with faithfulness (as if working for the Lord and not for human masters) it was during this time that God built him up, and equipped him, and trained him to be a leader of the flock, and even more specifically with the use of his slingshot as he defended his flock from wild beasts. And because those who are faithful over the small things, are faithful over the bigger things, when it came time for God to call him for a promotion, a higher calling of defeating the giant who had mocked Israel’s God, and eventually to be king over Israel, David was ready to do this bigger task and succeeded at it.

Likewise, God is preparing you for the giants in your life. Trust in God. Work as if working for Him. Be faithful in all you do, even when no one is watching because God sees you.

With a heavy heart, but a rejoicing spirit, we remember and thank God for the lives of both our brother Primo “Jun” Peña (left) and our sister Josie Banago (third from left), both of whom have been promoted to glory and have gone to be with the Lord. May God provide His comfort, strength, and hope of His blessed assurance at such a time as this. We will surely miss you both.

In case you’re wondering who the Messiah is, Gabriel delivered a message to Daniel (Daniel 9:20-27) saying that the Messiah would die before the destruction of the temple. The final “seven” years leading to the temple’s destruction by the Romans in 70 AD began in 63 AD with the Siege of Jerusalem. Who else can it be? Acts 4:12 says, “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭4‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This is the good news, the message of Christmas.
Maligayang Pasko po sa lahat!
