LET US PRAY - Dear Almighty God, maker of heaven and earth, we pause with gratitude on this Veterans Day to remember those who have worn the uniform of our nation. We thank You for men and women who, in seasons of peace and in hours of danger, offered themselves for the good of others. For courage shown, for sacrifices made, for duties quietly fulfilled—receive our thanks, O Lord.
We lift before You those who bear in their bodies and minds the wounds of war—bring healing, hope, and rest. Strengthen families who have carried the weight of absence, uncertainty, and change. Comfort those who grieve loved ones who did not return. Grant to all who serve and have served the deep assurance that their labor was not in vain.
Grant wisdom to our leaders, integrity to our institutions, and righteousness to our nation. Teach us to be worthy beneficiaries of others’ sacrifice—faithful neighbors, good citizens, makers of peace. Where there is division, sow understanding; where there is fear, kindle courage; where there is despair, shine the light of Christ.
We pray for those serving today at home and abroad: guard them from harm, steady them in temptation, protect their families, and guide their chaplains and commanders. Let justice roll down like waters, and may the knowledge of the Lord cover the earth. Make Your Church a refuge for the weary, a friend to the forgotten, and a minister of reconciliation.
And as we honor our veterans, fix our eyes on the greater love shown by Your Son—who laid down His life for His friends. By His cross and resurrection, heal our hearts, bless our land, and lead us in the paths of righteousness. We ask this in the strong name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
