OHANA means FAMILY and FAMILY mean's NOONE gets left behind. Friends, many of you may not know the story behind our sister in Christ, Children's Church leader, MDO teacher and most importantly friend!! Miss Garnets husband recently had his remaining kidney removed due to renal cell carcinoma. Due to having his other kidney removed, 10 years ago for the same exact reason, he is now on dialysis and is on the long waited transplant list. Please take a moment to read this post from their daughter Jocelyn and if you feel led, look into the possibility of being a living kidney donor in the name of John Stauffer.
From John & Garnet's daughter Tony-Jocelyn Spencer:
Please take a moment to read!
Typically we don't post things like this but it's very important to our family
Here is a little backstory first:
My (Jocelyn) dad is 61 and lost one kidney due to renal cell carcinoma 10 years ago and lost his other kidney 4 months ago due to another cancerous tumor. He undergoes dialysis 3 times a week to survive due to having no kidneys. He is on the transplant list but typically takes at least 5 years to get a kidney.
The best option is for him to find a living donor. We want to share this message so that anyone interested, could consider being his donor. The interesting part about this is that if a living donor donates a kidney in HIS NAME, the kidney goes straight to him if it’s a match, and he can jump line!! We would love nothing more than for our dad to get back to the quality of life that he used to have! A kidney donation would be a tremendous gift!!
To sign up as a potential living donor, please go to https://livingdonorreg.upmc.com/ and enter John Stauffer as the recipient. We are praying he can find a donor real soon! Thank you for your support!
Thank you for your interest in becoming a living donor. If you would like to donate to a specific individual, please ensure that they have been evaluated for a transplant at UPMC, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and are currently in contact with the UPMC Transplant team.
