"Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

This week we completed our journey through the Lord's Prayer with a sobering truth: we are weaker than we want to admit. Jesus teaches us to pray for protection not because God tempts us, but because He knows our limits better than we do.

The gap between who we want to be and who we actually are when pressure hits? That's the reality Paul described in Romans 7: "I do not do what I want, but the very thing I hate." There's a real enemy studying your patterns, timing your weaknesses, waiting for the moment you're tired or isolated.

But here's the hope: prayer isn't just coping—it's warfare. When we pray "deliver us," we're activating a victory already won at the cross. You're not fighting alone. The King who defeated the enemy is fighting for you, and your church family is praying with you.

Someone's name just came to your mind. The one that still tightens your stomach. The debt you've been quietly managing for months, maybe years.

This week we wrestled with Matthew 6:12: "Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors." Not just words, but a daily rhythm of stepping out of hiding into the presence of a Father whose Son already paid what we cannot pay.

Here's the truth: forgiveness isn't pretending the wound doesn't exist. It's absorbing the cost yourself instead of demanding payment. It's hard because it mirrors exactly what God did for us on the cross. The judgment we deserved was poured out on His Son.

Forgiven people forgive people. Not because we've earned anything, but because mercy received becomes mercy extended. Who do you need to release today?

When was the last time you felt genuinely needy? Most of us spend enormous energy making sure we never feel that way. We build margins, keep reserves, and plan for every contingency.

But Jesus teaches us to pray something radical: "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11). Not a five-year supply. Not abundance. Just enough for today. He's inviting us into present-tense dependence on the Father, one day at a time, with open hands.

This isn't about being passive. It's about acknowledging an honest truth: we're not actually the ultimate source of our own sustenance. Your body matters to God. Your physical needs aren't an embarrassment, they're an invitation to relationship with the Father who cares whether you have enough to eat today.

What if every meal this week became a reminder to notice provision, stop, open your hands, and say thank you?
