Join us this Sunday (6/14) at South Fork as we begin the 9th chapter of John's Gospel--the healing of the man born blind. So much to consider including the mystery of human suffering as the disciples ask Jesus, "Rabbi, who sinned? This man or his parents, that he was born blind?" The root of their question is age old, "Why does a holy God allow suffering and death?" Join us tomorrow at 10:30. Hope to see you there!

Many of those hearing Jesus in the Temple could recognize that he was no "mere Rabbi" but they could not accept his claims. So much of that remains today; but Jesus does not back down. He makes such statements as "if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death." Only the Son of God could make such a statement. Join us this Sunday at South Fork as we continue our study in John, chapter 8. Service begins at 10:30.

How does Jesus define what a true Christian is? That seems like a good thing to consider. Too often we allow the truth to be clouded by well wishing. It's a pretty radical call; one not to be reduced to catchy slogans and "church-growth" strategy. Those who are true followers, Jesus tells us in the same passage, will "know the truth" and the truth will set them free. That is quite a promise! Join us this Sunday at South Fork (5/24) as we consider the second of Jesus' "I AM" statements from the 8th chapter of John's Gospel. In a single phrase, Jesus identifies Himself not only as the long awaited Messiah but as God incarnate. The Pharisees, in their blindness, ask Him, "Who are you?" That question echoes into the present. Is He lunatic or Lord? As C.S. Lewis states, "let us dispense with the notion that He was simply a 'great moral teacher.' He has not left that option open to us; he never intended to." Hope to see you at South Fork this Sunday at 10:30!

Join us this Sunday (5/17) at South Fork as we consider the well known narrative of "the woman caught in adultery:" A scene that demonstrates both the cruelty of self-righteousness as well as the mercy of Jesus and his desire for all to "leave our lives of sin" and follow Him.
