Grateful for a few amazing donors who made this possible. Nearly 2 million prenatal vitamins, vitamin A and dewormer medications have arrived to help our friends in Ghana. Distribution of these life saving supplements will begin tomorrow!! So excited to be involved in changing lives!!

A few months ago we received a commendation from the ministry of health for our success in educating and supporting the nutrition of thousands of women and children in the Northern region of Ghana. Recent data shows that mothers and babies are more likely to survive childbirth in the areas we are serving than in neighboring communities. (They've asked us to increase our outreach into those areas). YEA!! We're changing lives!!

As of Friday, we have about 2000lbs of prenatal vitamins, deworming medications and essential vitamins for children on their way to Ghana. We've negotiated all that we can to reduce the import and receiving taxes for these shipments... but we haven't been able to eliminate them altogether. We need your help!!

Due to the global pandemic we haven't been able to visit our friends in person - but we've still been busy changing lives!!

At the end of June we were able to ship more than a million prenatal vitamins and children's deworming medications to villages throughout the Northern region of Ghana.
Supply chains are severely broken and there is clear evidence shorting that the women in the region we are serving are surviving childbirth more often than other areas. The ministry of health has asked us to increase our allocations to help more of these women! SO WE DID!!

Unfortunately, the numbers of women accused of witchcraft and finding refuge in the Gambaga camp for accused women is growing. In addition to the broken supply chains, there is a severe drought in the area and they are, quite literally, starving to death. So, at the end of July we were able to send over some money to buy grains and beans that will hopefully hold them over until the rains come.

So grateful for the opportunity to help!!

THANK YOU for your generous donations!! The food has been delivered to the accused women living in the Gambaga (Ghana) "Witch Camp". Conditions there were "overwhelming" when our partner arrived there with the beans, rice and cooking oil for them. Their numbers have surged, likely due to the virus, and are higher than they've been in several years. The women are truly struggling to survive, the delivery of food brought smiles to their faces.
Here are a few pictures from our trusted partner, Emmanuel who was able to purchase the food, deliver it to them, and oversee the distribution to all those in need.

Really exciting update in the battle against malaria, which kills an estimated 3000 children/day and more than a million Africans every year.

The World Health Organization has approved the first vaccine for malaria, a breakthrough for science that could save the lives of thousands of children, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. The safe, moderately effective vaccine becomes more effective when used with preventive drugs, and marks a "historic event" in the fight against malaria, says Pedro Alonso, director of the WHO's global malaria program.

Malaria kills about 500,000 people each year, about half of them children in Africa. The new vaccine isn’t perfect, but it will help turn the tide, experts said.

Hello Friends! You may have heard us talk about the women in the "Gambaga Witch Camp". This small village in Northern Ghana is currently home to 115 women and their children. For various, and unexplainable reasons, the women were accused of being witches by their village. As a result, they faced certain death, so they escaped and have found shelter in this village. They work together, and they work hard to survive. COVID is really hurting them right now. They're unable to sell their homemade crafts on the streets, their government subsidies aren't coming, and the broken supply chain has driven the price of food up exponentially. These people are, literally, starving. We need your help!! We would like to buy some beans and corn to help feed them until their farms are ready to harvest in about a month. It costs about $1.70 to feed each person 3 meals a day. Which is almost $200 every day. Every dollar you can donate will, quite literally, save a life.
