"Friends, Sunday is the summer solstice - the day with the most sunlight of the year. We invite you to celebrate Christ’s loving light in worship at DPC on this day. Our liturgy will be used in other Presbyterian churches as the denomination's 227th General Assembly begins to meet in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Our scripture texts are Isaiah 58:6-12 and Revelation 22:1-7. The Revelation text highlights the theme for this year's General Assembly: The Leaves of the Tree are for Healing. See you Sunday" - Pastor Mac

It’s always inspiring to see donations for the Monthly Food Drive pile up in the lobby! Don’t forget to bring your food or household items to be donated to local organizations to help those in need this Sunday. AND don’t forget that the Monthly Community Meal is now on its summer schedule – starting at 11 am each third Sunday of the month. Stop by after worship! 🍲

Some laughs, some tears, lots of singing, and – as is tradition – some delicious fried chicken on the final day of Summer Spiritual Renewal 2026! Thank you to the Perennials of DPC for organizing this time to experience songs of faith in a unique and personal way. Thank you also to Dr. Paul Rorem, Professor Emeritus of Medieval Church History at Princeton Theological Seminary, who joined Pastor Becca in leading the program. This Church Sings!

We invite you to enjoy Pastor Mac Schafer’s latest batch of photos from the DPC crew’s final days in Europe following their pilgrimage along St. Cuthbert’s Way traversing the English/Scottish border.
The group made it’s way by boat to the Inner Farne Islands where St. Cuthbert lived out his final days as a hermit and onto Durham Cathedral where he was laid to rest. Episcopal Priest Simon Oliver, a mutual friend of the Schafers and group member Chrissie, conducted a morning prayer service tailored specifically for the group. The coin pictured was from the minister who runs the cathedral’s pilgrimage center – each member of the group received a coin following a brief talk and welcome.

Stay tuned for a recap of the trip soon during worship and in the July edition of the Tidings newsletter.
