Since that time we've experienced God move in some big ways. We've seen individuals experience new life in Jesus; we've seen marriages about to end suddenly restored; we've seen people find a community; we've seen people who have wandered from God draw near to Him and God draw near to them. God using ordinary people like us to do extraordinary things has been absolutely incredible. Mission Communi
ty Church's home is located right in the heart of the Borough of Downingtown. Come be part of a move of God where we are passionate about being a gospel people on a gospel mission. The following are the five values we hold close as a church:
Gospel | Jesus is the Center
From the preschool to the pulpit and everything in between, we are a church that is all about the gospel of Jesus and giving Him glory! The gospel [“good news”] is simply this: that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose from the dead showing Himself victorious over death, and upon this profession He imputes His righteousness within us so that we are now looked on as blameless, sinless sons and daughters of the Most High God. Jesus is the center – the gospel is the foundation for discipleship! Worship | We Live Life to the Fullest
Everyone everywhere is worshiping someone or something – it is in the DNA of who we are as humans created by God. We are called to eat, drink, speak, think, work – “whatever we do” [1 Corinthians 10:31] – in a way that gives glory to God. Worship, therefore, cannot be limited to time and space. Worship is nurtured through the gathering of the community of faith, primarily corporate worship gatherings. Within these gatherings we worship God by devoting ourselves to preaching, teaching, singing, praying, reciting, and celebrating baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Each presents an opportunity to receive, remember, respond and rejoice in the gospel of Jesus. We live life to the fullest – worship is the fuel for discipleship! Community | We Do Life in Community
Since God is Triune – three persons living in perfect harmony as one – and we are made in His image, we must reflect that in how we live with others. We were made to live in community through relationship with God and relationship with each other. Community involves way more than mere attendance and casual involvement; community involves mutual love, care, consistency, and authenticity as we all transform more and more into the image of Jesus. Community can be messy, just like our sin messes up everything in our relationship with God; therefore, community allows us to practice the gospel of Jesus. We don’t do life alone – community is the context for discipleship! Service | Saved People Serve People
Jesus was the first person to introduce servant-leadership. In just one example in the New Testament, we observe the anointed King, the eternal Son of God, the blessed Lord washing the feet of His disciples – a task that was reserved for the lowest of the low. In this story Jesus gives us a humble example of servant-leadership to follow. Saved people serve people – service is the overflow of discipleship! Growth | Found People Find People
In simple words, Jesus commanded His disciples to go and make disciples. As we truly receive, remember, respond and rejoice in the gospel, it is only natural that we extend the gospel to a lost and dying world. We multiply the kingdom of God by living with the purpose to make God known. Found people find people – multiplication is the result of discipleship!
