October 4 is the feast day for St. Francis of Assisi. Among other things, Francis is patron of animals and the environment. Catholic parishes highlight the feast by blessing animals at churches on or around the feast day.

Our parish will hold a blessing of pets on Saturday, October 3, at 10 a.m. We welcome pets of all kinds for the blessing! Please meet in the west parking lot of the church for the blessing.

The Catholic Church celebrates on September 23 the Memorial of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, a Capuchin friar, priest, and mystic. Born in Italy in 1887. Padre Pio became known for his holiness, his compassionate ministry in the confessional, and his devotion to the Eucharist. Through his prayer, sacrifice, and love for others, he encouraged countless persons to grow in faith and trust in God’s mercy. Padre Pio entered eternal life in 1968 and was canonized by Pope St. John Paul II in 2002.
