Race Fans, unfortunately Raceway Ministries is unable to participate this year due to some insurance issue. The team is working to find out what the issue is to fix and be able to return next year.

On another note, I believe I won't be returning to Raceway Ministries. I feel the ministry isn't moving forward and not taking suggestions to do so. This past year one situation was the final decision.

With that being said....I will miss the relationships I formed, praying with you, and spending time with you. Thank you for the almost 20 years of friendships. I am sorry this page wasn't active like it should have been. It was just kind of dropped in my lap. Anyone who is a FB friend knows I don't do much social media. I am stuck to a computer screen all day and all I want to do is unplug when I get home.

Hebrews 12: 1-2

12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Don't forget, we are running a race, a race to our Heavenly Father. How we run it depends on the prize at the end. Don't take that for granted. Run your race as if lives are at stack because they are. The world is becoming a very scary and lost place. We need to share the light with them.

For the mother/daughter that reached out to me last year, you have been heavy on my heart and I would like to get and update so I know how to pray.

We had several opportunities to pray for race fans and Raceway workers this year as in many of the previous races. I would like to ask you to pray with us. Without listing specifics, there were a lot of health concerns this year. I personally had the wonderful opportunity of meeting a family who was just baptized this year and struggling to find the right church as well as dealing with a few health issues. Please pray this sweet family will find the right church where they will have a church family to love on them, help guide them in their new walk and lift them in prayer. We had a prayer need for clarification on decisions needed to be made, and peace. We also had the opportunity to meet 4 lovely young women that came to the US for the summer from Taiwan and will be traveling the US. Please pray for their safety with their travels and touring and a pleasant experience. It was so exciting seeing them experience different foods activities and the excitement of it all. They were so gracious for everything. Let us take a lesson from them and be gracious for the experiences and beautiful life God has given, but at the same time, (as one of the volunteers said this weekend) let us not hold on to things of this world, but strive for more for God's Kindom. Roman's 8:9 You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to Him at all.

Do you belong to Him???
Have you accepted God as your Savior and believe that he sent Jesus to pay for your sins? I hope so. If you question where you will be when you have taken your last breath, please take a in depth look at your heart. Have I asked God to forgive me of my sins? Are you honoring God with your actions, words, your walk? If you are not sure or have not accepted God and want to be sure, please reach out to us or a Pastor in your area. You will never make a better choice than to seek God.

I recently received news that a long time friend and Nascar fan ended is race on September 4th. Tom (pictured below) was a regular at Lot 10 and Dover Race track. He was one of the 1st fans I got to know back 18 years ago, when I started volunteering at Raceway Ministries. He was usually the first to come to our site for his morning coffee and stay and talk. His presence, smile, and friendship will be greatly missed. We lift his wife, Vickie, who gave me permission to do this post in Tom's honor and provided the picture, and the family up in prayer. May God provide the strength and comfort to get you through these trying times. Rest in Peace our friend. You ran your race, now may you rest in the arms of our Father.

As I am reading this morning in Roman's, I am reminded how God works. Lately I have been thanking God for choosing me to be His child. I am surrounded by the loss, even in my family. Although it pains me to know they are lost, I can't save them. I witness. I pray to God that I can be a better, stronger witness. BUT ultimately it is up to us as individuals to reach out to God. They can't get to Heaven because I have a relationship with God almighty. They have to make that decision. God calls us when our heart is seeking Him. He knows you. He knows your heart. If your heart is not right, if it is not seeking God, then God can't have a relationship with you. He is knocking at the door of your heart. Are you going to answer it and invite Him in? You will NEVER make a better decision than to seek God and ask Him to come reside in you. But...don't let it stop there. Just like any relationship, you have to invest in the relationship. Make time today to seek Him . If you have already done this, take the time to give God thanks for choosing you and make sure to set aside quality one on one time each and every day with Him and see how blessed you will be. Raceway Ministries has some changes in Lot 2 and 10. Some may have noticed this year. We are now running the new information booth for the racetrack (the log cabins) that are placed in both lots. The track handed us free merchandise to hand out to the race fans in these lots. I believe all the children received a K'Nex racecar to put together. The kids were excited to receive them. I am not sure if the free merchandise will continue, but we will be your spot to stop and get information about the track.

Each lot will be doing it own thing, but Lot 2 has included some kid friendly games and face painting. Please pray for me as I practice face painting to bring to Lot 10 as well. So please stop by our site each year to see changes to engage with the race fans. We love getting to meet and make new friendships as well as sharing the love of Christ for you. I am excited to see what is coming. See you next year.

This morning's scripture reading in John 17 verse 9. Jesus is praying to the Father, God, before his betrayal that leads to His crucifixion on the cross. Jesus prays for us, the ones who have a relationship with Him, who have accepted Him as their Lord and
Savior. What a powerful thing to read. While Jesus knew of His upcoming death, He prayed for US. If you don't know of His love for you, you should through John 17, which says....My prayer is not for the world (meaning those who don't accept the savior in their hearts), but for those you have given me, because they belong to You. It goes on to say in verse 10 that we, who accepted Christ brings Him glory. In verse 12, He prays to the Father to protect US by the power of His name and to guard us so that not one is lost.

Very few people in time of extreme put others in front of themselves. Think of being in a burning building with other people. Do you worry about getting yourself, your family and/or friends out or do you do everything possible to try and save everyone else with little thought of yourself? Now, let me say this, I am in NO way suggesting anyone put their life on the line, I am just trying to put out a visual of what Jesus did for us. The difference in my visual and what Jesus did is that Jesus knew the outcome and knew He was going to die for our sins, He put His life on the line. Jesus, so perfect and sinless, doesn't put a lot of time into thinking of His own situation, but more of His children and the lost. Jesus does have a moment in prayer in Luke 42 where He goes to the Father 3 times asking..... Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done. Jesus here is more worried about the will of His Father and saving US than saving Himself. He could have saved Himself, but He chose US. Then the Father sent an angel to Him to strengthen Him. See Jesus is fully God and fully man. As fully man, He knew the pain of laying His life on the line so that everyone can come to the Father directly and have eternal life. As fully God, He knew what He needed to do and knew the outcome, yet He still did it because of His love. All you have to do is believe in Jesus and ask God to come into your heart and save you from your sins. Once you become a child of God, Jesus prays to the Father on your behalf. Isn't that wonderful??? Please take time to process that. Jesus prays for His own. It is so powerful.

A lot of people ask for prayer when things seem to be at their darkest, but did you know that God can only hear the prayers of those who have accepted Him as their Lord and Savior? So make sure you have a direct path to pray to the only one who can hear your prayers. The time is now. We are not guaranteed tomorrow.
