Psalm pray for this morning, how it resonates deeply in my life. The evil one is working overtime in our world. Building doubt in us, what God teaches us and the truth of His Love and His intentions for us. Gods will is alive deep in our soul, but the Devil is brewing his evil ways to lead us down the wrong path.
As is revealed in Romans 8:5-6
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit.
6 To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.

I pray for Gods Grace and Will be done in me. That the Spirit guide this weak man, who the evil one keeps placing doubt and negativity into my life. Let He who created the world be in Him and the world but not of the world. May God guide, protect and have mercy on us.

This is an excerpt from the Morning reading from the Office of Readings in my Breviary for today. This sermon from St Augustine not only applies to Bishops, but Priests, Deacons and all Christians (especially those charged with teaching or leading us in our Faith). As a Catholic it is of greater consequence that we share the truth of Christs teaching, but only with great humility and the grace that Our Lord provides for us. We are never the ones who spread the news or convert souls, but the Holy Spirit that lives within us. We are nearly vessel’s that freely choose to allow God to work in our lives. St Augustine so clearly knew this and as a Priest and Bishop, he lived it so beautifully. So today let us humble ourselves, and pray: Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth.
Let us pray. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and ever to rejoice in His consolation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

Morning Prayer - Memorial - Beheading of John the Baptist. John was praising our Lord well before either was born as he kept for joy in his mothers womb. As scripture reads:

41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the child leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit
42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, " Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the child in my womb leaped for joy.
45 And blessed is she who believed that there would bea fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord."
Luke 1:41-45 RSV-CE
John lived to point the way to Christ, never for his own glory but that of our Savior, Jesus, The Christ. Even upon death, he was not asked to denounce Christ, Herod surly knew he wouldn’t, but to keep silent. How often today are we called to be silent by the world. Silent so as to not offend nonbelievers. We are not called to be silent, we are not called to not offend the nonbelievers. We are called to do as John did, lay down our lives and proclaim the Gospels for the conversation of souls.
So today let us take to the streets, social media and our loved ones to spread the word of God for the redemption of their souls.

ThePsalm prayer for Psalm 85 part of todays morning prayer: Show us your mercy, Lord; our misery is known to us. May no evil desires prevail over us, for your glory and love dwell in our hearts.
Our world is a fallen world and with that comes misery, I pray that through our Love and faithfulness to our Lord we can over come and not succumb to the evil that dwells among us. The Devil wants nothing more than to keep us from Gods Love and Mercy. He places doubt and rejection in our hearts. God has placed His Love, Glory and Mercy within us, all we have to do is accept it.

One of my favorite Psalms, oh how I long for the courts of the Lord, how I long for his Dwelling place.

Here we do not have a lasting city; we seek a home that is yet to come (Hebrews 13:14).

Psalm 84
Longing for God’s Temple

How lovely is your dwelling place,
Lord, God of hosts.

My soul is longing and yearning,
is yearning for the courts of the Lord.
My heart and my soul ring out their joy
to God, the living God.

The sparrow herself finds a home
and the swallow a nest for her brood;
she lays her young by your altars,
Lord of hosts, my king and my God.

They are happy, who dwell in your house,
for ever singing your praise.
They are happy, whose strength is in you,
in whose hearts are the roads to Zion.

As they go through the Bitter Valley
they make it a place of springs,
the autumn rain covers it with blessings.
They walk with ever growing strength,
they will see the God of gods in Zion.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer,
give ear, O God of Jacob.
Turn your eyes, O God, our shield,
look on the face of your anointed.

One day within your courts
is better than a thousand elsewhere.
The threshold of the house of God
I prefer to the dwellings of the wicked.

For the Lord God is a rampart, a shield;
he will give us his favor and glory.
The Lord will not refuse any good
to those who walk without blame.

Lord, God of hosts,
happy the man who trusts in you!

Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now,
and will be for ever. Amen.

What a great team/teams we had at Kopper Top this week. Our teams (17&22) worked on the tack house and ramp for the office. Everyone did an incredible job! What an awesome group and what a testament they made to being the hands of God to others.
