Pentecost Sunday was truly a powerful and spirit-filled experience today! Pastor Maxine L Johnson preached from Numbers 11 and reminded us of the blessing and authority that comes with walking in God’s kingdom and being Spirit-filled.

“When you belong to the kingdom of God you can say membership has its privileges and one of the best privileges is the power of the Holy Ghost.”

We thank God for His presence, His power, and the outpouring of His Spirit. May we continue to walk boldly, serve faithfully, and allow the Holy Ghost to lead us every day. 🔥🙌🏽

We were excited to kick off our Women’s Day season with our theme-based Bible Study led by Sis. Carolyn Browne!

“Everyday we should be touching somebody’s life…. Everyday we should be realizing that we need to walk in the Spirit, and that we need to do what the Lord has commissioned us to do.”

What a powerful reminder that we are called, chosen, commissioned, and covered as women of God. Let us continue to encourage one another, grow together in faith, and walk boldly in the purpose God has for our lives.

We’re looking forward to all that God is going to do during this Women’s Day season! 💜

With the 103rd Session of the Delaware Annual Conference coming to a close under the powerful theme “RISE: Revise. Rebuild. Reclaim.”, we celebrate what God has done throughout this incredible gathering.

We are especially grateful that our very own pastor, Rev. Dr. Maxine L. Johnson, had the honor of preaching the opening service. She delivered a powerful message from Ezekiel 37:4–6 titled “Just When You Think It’s Not Worth It.” One of the many impactful reminders from her sermon was:

“We can’t experience the power of God if we are not locked in to the power of God.”

We thank God for how He used her to set the tone for this year’s conference. We are also grateful and excited that she has been appointed back to John Wesley!

Pastor, welcome back! We look forward to continuing the work of ministry together as we rise, revive, rebuild, and reclaim all that God has for us.

Today on his birthday, we honor Bishop Richard Allen, the visionary founder of the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Born into slavery, Bishop Allen’s faith, courage, and determination led him to establish a church rooted in freedom, justice, and dignity for all people. His legacy reminds us that faith is not just what we believe—but how we stand, serve, and lead.

We are grateful for the foundation he laid and proud to continue walking in the path he paved. ✝️❤️

On behalf of Chosen Generation Ministry:

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support Chosen Generation Ministry as we celebrated one year of outreach ministry! What an incredible milestone and an even more incredible day.

Thank you to our John Wesley family, our pastor, and the entire ministerial staff for your continued covering, encouragement, and belief in this vision. To our advisors, thank you for your guidance, wisdom, and steady support behind the scenes.

We are so grateful for all of the worship participants and guest choir members who helped usher in the presence of God—your gifts truly blessed the room. A special thank you to Rev. Makeeda Brooks for traveling from New York to minister to us with such power, authenticity, and love. We love y’all forreal ❤️

We also extend our appreciation to the City of Dover for recognizing our outreach program and the work being done in the community. Your acknowledgment means more than words can express.
