WHEN LIFE BECOMES MORE THAN YOU CAN HANDLE

Have you ever reached a point where life simply feels overwhelming?

Financial struggles. Unexpected diagnoses. Family challenges. Job uncertainty. Sometimes it seems like everything is happening at once.

David knew what it meant to feel overwhelmed. He was anointed to be king, had experienced great victories, yet found himself running for his life.

IT’S TIME TO TURN | Deuteronomy 2:1–3

Have you ever felt like you’ve been going around the same mountain for years?

The same struggles. The same disappointments. The same cycles. You’ve prayed, you’ve waited, and maybe you’ve even started wondering if this is simply how your life is going to be.

But God told Israel, “Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward.”

There comes a moment when God says, “You’ve been here long enough. It’s time to turn. It’s time to trust Me. It’s time to move forward.”

Deuteronomy 2:1–3

Have you ever looked back over your life and wondered why you had to go through certain things? Why you were separated, overlooked, moved, rejected, or placed in situations you never would have chosen?

In Exodus 2, Moses was placed in a basket and sent down the Nile. What may have looked like abandonment was actually preservation. The same river Pharaoh intended for destruction became the pathway God used to protect Moses and position him for purpose.

Sometimes you do not understand the method while you are living through it. But when you look back, you can see that the hand of God was on you the entire time.

You survived things that could have destroyed you.
You made it through places others did not.
You are still here.
You are still standing.
You are still able to call on Jesus.

You were not preserved by accident.

You were preserved on purpose.

This Sunday, we’re going back to the day Ichabod was born—the day everything changed in Israel.

The ark was taken. Eli’s sons were dead. The glory had departed.

But how did Israel get there?

Somewhere along the way, they became comfortable with the presence of God. The ark became a prop. A good luck charm. Something to bring out when they needed God to move.

And if we’re not careful, we can do the same thing today.

God is not a prop. He is not decoration for the season. He is not just my resource—He is my source.
