Pilgrim Orthodox Presbyterian Church

Pilgrim Orthodox Presbyterian Church We're a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, aiming to have a Biblically faithful church where the Lord is worshiped and Gospel is proclaimed.

We are a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church which has been holding worship services in Dover since 2005, drawing families and individuals from the Dover area, Durham, Rochester, and southern Maine. We are united by our desire to have a Biblically faithful church where the Lord is worshiped and the Gospel is proclaimed. More specifically, we are a Reformed congregation whose doctrine

and practice is consistent with the Presbyterian and Reformed tradition which emerged out of the sixteenth century Protestant Reformation. If you join us for a worship service, you will find that we are not flashy or gimmicky in the ways we approach worship and Christian living. Instead, we are a small but growing group of people who love the Lord and desire to "glorify God and enjoy him forever" (as the Westminster Confession states it) as we submit ourselves to the authority of the Scriptures. You will find no perfect people in our congregation, but you will find many people who entrust themselves to a perfect Savior. You won't find a majestic church building, but you will find that Jesus Christ is building his church through the means which he has ordained: his Word, the sacraments, and prayer. We take comfort in the words of our Lord that God is pleased neither by ostentatious formality nor by raucous entertainment but only by those who worship "in Spirit and in truth." We also take comfort in the promises that the church yet awaits for her true glorification which will be known in the New Heavens and New Earth upon Christ's return. Until that day we seek to live as Christians in obedience to the word of God and in reliance upon the Holy Spirit. We embrace and proclaim the whole of the Scriptures (Old and New Testaments) as testifying to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we believe that the Gospel is God's power unto salvation for the lost as well as for believers who already know the Lord Jesus Christ. We meet on the campus of Portsmouth Christian Academy. Sunday Morning Worship at 10:30 AM

Greetings All!

This week we will be moving into 2 Samuel 8:1-13, where we begin to see how the kingdom works. This chapter might at first blush seem like it simply states some history, the reality is there is a lot more going on here than just a description of battles.

In the evening we will be taking on the largest section of Romans 9 with verses 19-29. These verses, which follow hard on Paul's explicit statement of the doctrine of election, Paul takes on the charge that God is not fair.

Hope you are able to join us this Lord's Day!

Do not forget that Sunday School is taking a break until the end of summer.
See you at 10:30 for worship!

Greetings All!

This week we will conclude chapter 7 of 2 Smanuel by looking at David's response to God's promise of a house for David in 2 Samuel 7:18-29.

Remember that the Sunday school semester ended last week so we are now out for the summer.

In the evening we will be moving to Paul's next argument in Romans 9, in verses 14-18 Paul clearly states the case for God's sovereign election.

I hope that you are able to join us this week as we worship the Lord on his day.

Greetings!

This week at the morning service we will be looking at the high water mark of the David story in the covenant that God makes with David in 2 Samuel 7:1-17. Hope you are able to join us as we look at this pivotal passage in the story of redemption.

In the evening we will be continuing in Romans, this week we will be looking at one of the most famous (or infamous, depending on your outlook) passages about God's election in the whole Bible in Romans 9:6-13.

I look forward to joining you all this Lord's Day as we come together to worship our Lord together!
