Holy Protection Orthodox Church Sunday Divine Liturgy 10:00 am

We are a faith-family of Orthodox Christians of the Tampa Bay area and invite you to join us in the continuous entrusting of our lives to God, daily asking Him to be our Shepherd who leads us in the paths of righteousness, so that as children well loved by our Heavenly Father, we can say with the Psalmist: "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever" (23rd Psalm--22LXX) Our parish is within the Central Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the United States of America (UOC of the USA); and is within the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, the first see of God's Holy Orthodox Catholic and Apostolic Church.

You were never created to spend your life proving your worth. In yesterday’s Gospel, Luke 10:16–21, Christ redirects the disciples from celebrating what they accomplished to rejoicing that they belong to God. That same reminder is for us today. Success fades, recognition passes, and accomplishments can never tell us who we truly are. Our deepest identity is found in Christ.

This Reset Monday, release the pressure to prove yourself. Choose humility over pride, presence over distraction, and trust over control. Reset your heart and remember: the greatest gift isn’t what you can do for God, but that you belong to Him.

Yesterday, we heard Christ’s challenging words: “Just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.”

Now that it’s Monday, the real work begins. The Gospel doesn’t stay behind in the church; it follows us into our homes, workplaces, schools, and everyday relationships. Jesus calls us to something greater than simply loving those who love us. He invites us to show mercy, kindness, and compassion even when it’s difficult. That kind of love doesn’t come naturally. It comes from a heart that is learning to look more like Christ.

As we begin a new week, let us choose forgiveness over resentment, generosity over selfishness, and mercy over judgment. May yesterday’s Gospel become today’s way of life, so that everyone we encounter experiences a little more of God’s love through us.
