How to be a mental health advocate in the parish.
Looking for ways to advocate for mental mealth in your parish? We can help!
The Assembly of Bishop's Mental Health Ministries has resources that makes it more attainable for every parish to play an active roll in breaking the stigma around mental health awareness.
Some of the ways you can be a mental health advocate at your parish are:
-Organize a lecture series with topics centered on mental health and substance abuse with a qualified speaker.
-Place links on your parish website to the AoB's Mental Health Ministries Digital Resources which include podcasts, Saints to pray to for mental health, over 200 professionals on the AoB Directory of Mental Health Professionals and so much more!
-Share the AoB's Mental Health Ministries and Peace of Mind posts on your and your parish's social media pages to demonstrate your community's commitment to challenging stigma and supporting mental wellbeing.
-Coordinate and plan your own Peace of Mind event at your parish by identifying a date and an event package that will work with your parish. Communicate with all the Orthodox Christian clergy and ministry leaders in your area, so you can host an interjurisdictional event!
