As you may have already seen, there is a trend going around where you ask ChatGPT something to the effect of "if you were the devil, how would you go about destroying the minds of the next generation?" I checked it out for myself yesterday and then received an email this morning from CPYU President Walt Mueller who had done the same thing. While the whole answer is alarming because of how accurately it describes our current reality, there is one piece I want highlight:

"Distort identity and purpose – Encourage confusion about who they are and what life is for, while discouraging introspection, spirituality, or deep values."

This is what our culture is trying to do to our kids--confuse them about their God-given identity and who He has created them to be.

While we were already planning to have a summer book group, this just reminded me how important the topic of identity is. So I wanted to put in another plug for our summer book group that will be reading "Who Am I and Why Do I Matter?" The group will meet Sunday mornings at 9am to read and discuss together. If you have a middle or high school student that would like to join, please let me know ASAP! We will begin June 8th, with no meetings on June 22nd or July 6th.
