Nativity of the Blessed Virgin
Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary celebrates the birth of the Virgin Mary. Mary was prepared from the moment of her conception to be the bearer of Christ. Her faith, obedience, and love brought our Savior to the world. St. Agustine wrote “She (Mary) is the flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley.”

Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary on Her Birth
O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
Born without the stain of original sin,
You were the first to be born in the perfection of human nature.
Today we celebrate your birth, a joy for the angels and the world,
A sign of the coming of Jesus, our Savior.
We praise you for the grace you received at your conception,
And for the love you have always shown to God.
May your intercession bring hope, mercy, and holiness into our lives.
Amen.
