Crucified by Christians?
“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
John 1:11 KJV
To be with someone that is your own it refers to an aspect of equality. Jesus shared the dna, the hair, the skin color, the occupation and so on of his surrounding brethren. A prophet isn’t without honor save among his own country and amount his own kindred. Jesus was led to the slaughter by his own people. Why? Where did most prophets emerge in the biblical text? Take into consideration the wilderness! Why did they end up in the wilderness? Because while they shared some similar characteristics of their brethren there was something unique about their own being. Something that while all of us share in common a finger print, a face, and yet each one is distinct and different. The place this is often discovered is in the wilderness of rejection. Our problem with rejection is miss guided because we have made it ego centric. Rejection isn’t about who you are it’s about allowing the greater person you can become emerge.
Jesus was despised and rejected of men, and yet he had a unique gift to be revealed in that rejection, VICTORY over death!
Your rejection experienced by a loved one. Parents asking you to move out. Bosses telling you to get lost, a pastor asking you to find another church. They are saying you are bad. They are saying you are equal with them and that the rest of your gifts and talents must be discovered else where. This doesn’t mean there cannot be reconciliations. But for their to be that both individuals must take their separation as a journey of growth. Jacob and Esau are the biblical equivalent.
